Dean's POV
I quickly turned around, seeing Emy--my new nickname for her--standing right behind me, obviously listening in. I can't believe I hadn't felt her presence behind me. Then I inspected her. I couldn't believe she was an angel. She wasn't a dick like the rest of them--excluding Castiel. She didn't have any powers whatsoever. Plus, she felt pain. She could be killed just as both Sam and I could. I don't understand!
"She's a new angel, Dean," Cas said, reading my mind. "She doesn't have immortality like we do. We were made by God. She was made by two angels."
"What does that have to do with--"
"It means she's a killable angel."
"What about her powers?" I asked.
"Will you guys stop talking about me like I'm not here?" she exclaimed, stepping towards us, making herself more noticeable. "Go on."
"Same powers as I have, but you gain them as you grow older. Or, that is my guess, since this has never happened before."
"So, I'm an angel?" she asked.
"Yes," Cas answered.
"But...but I am capable of being hurt? Killed?"
"Yes," Cas said again.
"Will anybody come after me?" she asked, and I could tell her guarded exterior was breaking to her worry for living. She could take the facts, she just couldn't take the vulnerability.
"Not if they don't know about you."
"So, I'm gonna have to hide from everyone?" she asked, clearly not liking the thought of isolation.
"No," Castiel reassured her. "You can see people, just be careful. You'll know when your around an angel. If you happen to be in that situation, get out of it. Once they look into your eyes, they'll know that your not a normal angel. That's how I got suspicious."
"But you didn't say anything until now?" I asked.
"Well, why give false fears if it might not be true?"
"But it is true," I pointed out.
"I didn't know that then," he reminded me. "It's all about timing. Like now is the perfect time to figure this out. We just gotta keep her from being kidnapped again."
"I don't like this," I said.
"Neither do I, but we can't change anything," the angel pointed out.
"Guys, if I'm going to have to avoid other angels and demons at all costs, I'm gonna have to learn how to be...an angel," Emily said. And she was right.
I looked over at Cas. He looked at the wall behind Emily and I, then refocused on her. "I know. You're right."
"So..." she trailed off, wanting someone to fill in the blank.
I looked over at Castiel. He didn't realize. I rolled my eyes and nudged him. He gave me a look. "Say something," I told him, motioning to her.
"Oh, right." He turned to face her. "I could train you."
Her face lit up. "Really? You would do that?"
"Why wouldn't I?" he asked, starting to become his confused angel self again.
She shook her head. "Some people are just too selfish."
"So..." She paused, looking at both of us. "Where do we start?"
Emily's POV
I did my best to block any emotion from coming to my face, but that didn't keep them from storming inside my head. I'm and angel?! I didn't even know they existed until I met Castiel! And now he comes trudging in his tan trenchcoat claiming in an illegal mortal angel and that anybody who knows about this is out to get me? Am I crazy?!
