{Chapter 17: Pain Strikes Again}
[Authors POV]
He runs to the dorm's door, opening it easily considering it was left unlocked. He slips a bit as he runs down the hall, his wet shoes squeaking against the wooden floor while he breathes with heavy grunts. "MinJi!" He breathlessly shouts as he makes it to her door, slipping in the process but regaining his balance. He feels his entire body pulsing and aching, practically yelling at him to pay attention to the wounds scattered on different parts of his body. He ignores his body's cries for help and instead shoves his body into the door to open it.
"MinJi", Jungkook says under his breath when he can see the girl he loves to death sobbing in the corner of her room, her knees pulled to her chest as her bed covers surround her. As soon as she hears her name, she looks up and sniffles with wide eyes, slowly standing up as she takes a look at his form.
"J-Jungkook-"
"Are you okay", he interrupts as he walks towards her, ignoring the slight pain in his ankle as his wet hair continues to drip. He stops in front of her shaking form, his wet and cold hands cupping her cheeks as he leans close to inspect her red and swollen eyes. "What's wrong? What happened?"
"I-I could ask the same to you", she gasps at the coldness of his hands and the way he looks in front of her. She removes his hands from her face and wipes away her stray tears, inspecting Jungkook's chin which had been scraped against the asphalt of the street. Her fingers delicately graze over his cold skin, her eyes glazing over in worry as she tries to inspect him for more wounds. His face scrunches in response to her finger accidentally touching a cut on his face.
"that doesn't matter", he says as he swats her hands away from his face. He stumbles a bit, but still pulls her close as a deep sigh escapes him. His soaking and ripped up arms wrap around her, his body beginning to give out from beneath him as the adrenaline, which what kept him going, now recedes. "I thought-"
His breathing comes out in gasps as he uses his last bit of strength to waddle towards the bed with his arms still wrapped around her. "Jungkook!" She yelps as he falls, bringing her with him as she lands beside him.
They face each other, Jungkook's labored breaths are loud as he limply places his hand on her exposed and tear stained cheek. "MinJi", he swallows and sniffles from the cold, "I love you."
"Jungkook, what are you saying at a time like this?! You're wet and hurt-"
"Shh", he whispers as his eyelids close, his clothes ripped and soaked in both blood and rain. "I'm telling you this, in case you-", he swallows again as his eyelids remain closed, "In case you forget. I really love you, and I am here... I'm here, for you."
She feels her eyes tear up as his eyes flutter open, his smile warm unlike his shivering body. "You can always talk to me. Tell me, what are you feeling", he tells her as his wet hand that was once on her cheek now moves to the back of her neck. She shivers at the cold feeling and rests her warm hand on his arm.
"Jungkook, you're bleeding! What happened-"
"Not important", he says and she sits up, his hand falling limply off of her in response. She quickly helps him sit up, which only causes him to wince.
"The hell?! Jungkook, you ARE important!! You're-"
He only smiles as he leans close. "How you feel right now is how I feel about you, except millions of times more. MinJi, you are so important to me. When you're feeling like this", he gestures to her swollen and bloodshot eyes with his shaky hand, "it makes me feel even worse, especially when you're keeping it all bottled up. Tell me how you're feeling MinJi."
