Jacqueline fished with her spoon. The house seemed so quiet now since no one was here except her of course. Loxie at daycare, Morgan went back to uni and Asa at the park with Ferry and his other two friends.....

She couldn't help feeling proud and relieve for her son, remembering how he used to act when he was a child still! Jacqueline never understood Asa when he was six and somewhere around that age. He was such a quiet boy with no friends and attitude wise, he was poor!!

She was glad that she'd sent him to the theater school at seven! Asa changed rapidly ever since then. The drama classes really helped boost up his confidence and also he learnt to talk to others that are his age. Learn to make friends and be less violent and more polite and normals-like! The foul memories before all that stuck in her mind like glue, never wanting to come off.

Her diamond boy was a beast! Snarling and making such a ruckus the moment something went wrong and he couldn't get what he wanted! Other times, Asa would stay completely mute the whole day and sometimes it lasts a week! Many nights, her son lost countless of sleep due to nightmares that keep him awake! Nightmares of the 'Burning Shadow' that's what Asa called!

When her husband was still around ( Not dead!!), they one day brought him to the doctor after Asa attempted to cut his wrists to scare them with a penknife! Doctor suspected him as a mental disorder patient and ordered to be sent to a psychiatrist! Prof. Culaz said that maybe, "your young boy must be suffering from bipolar disorder".

Jacqueline's heart broke that day! Many days, she would cry herself to sleep and Morgan, her eldest son would try to comfort and convince her that Asa will be fine and he will heal!! Hours her son will spent unconscious in the hospital after being injected by. A calming serum after his behavior worsen! He had run away too and Jacqueline only found him in the park after a whole night of searching!

She clearly remembered the look on his face when she found him! The deadliest stare she had ever seen! Things got worse every day when Asa got older. It's as if he had a devil leaving inside of him from the first day he was born which was the 1st of April!!

Relatives and families didn't help. She only remembered her precious baby getting hate and taunts!!

"Son of the devil, he is! Look what he did to Lexi's hair".

"He really needs to be treated"

"I'm sad to say, your boy Jackie, worst condition I've ever seen!"

Screw them all, she had thought! Screw them!!! She loved Asa whether he was the son of an angle or the son of a devil! 9 months of pain she had went through and now it finally paid off!!! Asa is different now even relatives noticed the change and how happy and pleased they were but..........

Jacqueline still can't be sure. Sometimes when Asa talks, they will always be another voice following up and she had to not gasps. Sometimes, when there was no one in the room and she would be sleeping, she sworn she had seen Asa coming into the room and staring at her. And the worst part......the reflection in his eyes!! Jacquelin can't deny it! Only yesterday, there was a face in the boy's eyes when he speak and it wasn't her face!! It was....HIS!!!

It's not possible for someone to see their own reflection in their own eyes while not looking at the mirror....right?

'My imagination?'

.......................................

I screamed so loud, I think Hailee's ears are gone for good! There she goes, peddling the cycle so fast and letting go when the path reached a slope, letting gravity do its work!

"I'm getting dizzy?" I complained. I was at the back seat and even from here, I felt Hailee's grin slapped across my face!

"You want me to stop?" She asked.

"No of course not! The boys will win if you stopped now!!"

"Then hang on tight cause the ride is goin to get bumpy".

"Shit!" I slowly cursed as the green two wheeled cycle went down in speed and we carried our legs in the air, screaming all the way. Aramis and Asa were catching up and I can see Asa peddling his bike in full speed, trying to reach us in time!

"Hey!" I heard Hailee cried through the fast wind. "There's the ribbon! Get it!"

I reached my arm up and snatched the pink ribbon from the low branch, receiving a 'Whoop, Whoop' from a very satisfied Hailee while hearing the groans of the boys behind! Girls vs Guys?? Girls ruled! Boys drooled!

"We won", I shouted in excitement as Hailee came to a halt with the bike! We were first on track, we got the ribbon and we beat the boys!! HAH!

I saw Asa's look of pure- I- don't- give- a- shit look and laughed!

"Awwww.....what's wrong?" Hailee taunted and I giggled more while Aramis gave us the finger. "Angry?"

"Please", Asa said although something caught me at that moment! Something about his tone was a little heavy. Was he disappointed? He couldn't care less can he?

"I wanted you to win. Couldn't let you girls lose and started and crying".

"Really?" , Hailee asked, suspension making her eyebrows arch.

"Maybe", Aramis said and I threw the ribbon at his face.

Hailee and I laughed when Aramis tried to avoid the ribbon like a snake and after some glares, he too joined in the fun! I noticed Asa suddenly being very quiet and I stared at him trying not to make it obvious to him. His blue eyes grew dark suddenly and they glowed with a hint of gold from the reflection of the sunlight and I thought to myself what could be more beautiful than that!

While the rest made fun and laughed their heads off, Asa was staring far away at the field and I followed his glance! There was an old swing at the far corner and after that swing, there was a wide river!! The river Thames!!

"Asa", I called. "What's wrong?"

Asa didn't turn to look at me. "The night is coming!"

AWKWARD...........does he sometimes talk like that? I tried to search answers from Aramis and Hailee's faces but they only shrugged.

"We should go", Asa suggested and I nodded.

"Yeah! Wouldn't want to piss my guardians off".

He gave me a smile.....of a ghost......
