Everyone was literally staring at....Asa, I guess....especially his mother! For one thing he looked different! And the other thing was that....I knew that this boy wasn't in fact the boy I fell in love with!

But he seemed to be in friendly terms with everyone else. Hailee sat by me as we huddled close to the the fireplace for warmth. Morgan had been cleaned and put to sleep immediately and even Sonia was given a sort of dose by....Asa?

His eyes!! His crystal blue jems were the color of fire....orange and alive! I turned to look at his face but he didn't look back, his eyes unblinking as the light from the inferno danced in his pupils. Then...almost immediately they snapped up at me!

Feeling self conscious, I dragged my gaze to my pale cold feet. Hailee nudged me and suddenly he was sitting behind me. I gasped inwardly as I felt his breath on the nape of my neck when he spoke, "does it...hurt?"

When did he even...!!!!

I took in a sharp intake of breath and he gladly to that as a reply and edged his way to sit beside me instead.

"Here..." He said and laid his palm on my feet. Instantly there was a sudden rush of warmth on my skin which calmed me entirely. "Does it feel better...Ferry?"

"Uh...yeah" I smiled at him. "Thanks".

He returned my smile and I immediately knew that that wasn't Asa in the least. The way he just smiled at me. It was like trying to remember back a fond memory yet a sad past. Even the way he talks. His speech is...uncertain...

"Um...does it...hurt somewhere else?"

I gave Asa a sideways glance. "N..no! Are you...?"

"Not now". He closed his eyelids. "When everyone else sleeps...then I will speak".

.......................................................................

"I'm...I'm the Second!" Asa looked a little out of breath. The others watched. "All this time....and it was me all along. So...that's the reason...."

"Yes". Victoria cut in. "It's the very reason why Bipasha is trying to rid the both of you. If that happens you two will immediately be non existence and both worlds will be in jeopardy".

"It's terrible that you have to be the royal descendent Ace", Vincent said, trying to sound apologetic. But then he ended up laughing and getting elbowed by Asa in furious judgement.

"Then the training must begin sooner", Ghost said, drifting like a white sheet a few meters away from Vincent. The vampire, startled by his sudden appearance, snapped, "don't just show your face like that! Could give me a heart attack!"

"But you're already dead!"

"What!?"

"Urusai Baka!" ( shut up idiots ) Victoria gave them her killing glare and turned back her gaze on Asa. "Tch...nani?" (Tch...what?)

"Nothing" Asa said, smiling slightly. "Didn't know you still knew Japanese after so long"

"Don't underestimate the powers of a vampire's memory!" She added with a satisfied grin, then sighed slowly. "Though my brother might be a different case".

"That's not nice", Vincent retorted.

"Come ma boy, Manny coiled his arm around Asa's shoulders. The bulky fellow would take up Asa's spot entirely. "We'll discuss elsewhere. You and I need a private conversation". He sounded like a sailor man or even a pirate.

"Suits me".

They walked a little way through and found themselves in a field of fog and lush green trees. Eternity's sky was like Reality, copying the concept of a misty early morning right after the first rain. But Asa knew better.....
