James walked inside Hermione's home cautiously. He was afraid of making the slightest noise or causing anything to break.

Hermione could not help but tear a bit finally seeing her son inside her home.

His home.

Their home.

"My love, why do you walk so cautiously? This is our home." Hermione softly said as she crouched besides James.

"Home..." James let out, as if the word was in a different language.

"Yes, my love, home." Hermione confirmed. James couldn't help but burst out crying of joy. He finally had a home.

Hermione weeped silently as she embraced her bundle of joy and hugged him tightly.

"You're never leaving my side as long as I live." Hermione vowed as she kissed his head softly. James could only tighten his arms around his mother's neck as he let her shower him with kisses.

After a few hours of painting with his mom and a tour around her astonishing three story house James felt a bit of disappointment when the house's doorbell rang.

"Oh I wonder who that could be?" Hermione muttered as she and James walked towards the door.

There went his time alone with his mum.

Upon opening the door James was astonished to find a young boy his age before him. The young boy wasn't alone as two adults were behind him.

The boy's eyes were grey and his hair was white as snow.

"Draco! Astoria!" Hermione gasped in delight, James hiding behind his mum's legs.

"Sorry for the interruption Granger. We were going to use the regular Wizarding method but Scorpio here is fascinated by your doorbell so we used the muggle way." Draco said before widening his eyes as he caught the young boy shivering behind his mother.

"Bloody hell!" Draco gasped as his eyes landed on James.

"Draco, Astoria, and Scorpio,". Hermione said getting their attention. "I would like to present to you all my son James."

Astoria gasped before tears began streaming down her eyes. "Oh mercy Lewis!"

Hermione crouched down beside James before saying, "James, love, I would like you to meet Draco, Astoria, and Scorpio Malfoy."

"Hello." James said quietly before Scorpio smiled at him. "Hi!" Scorpio happily chirped.

Half an hour later Hermione, Astoria, and Draco were all seated outside the backyard's porch, gossiping about the latest news on the Wizarding world. As they sipped on their tea the parents couldn't take their eyes off their sons.

Both boys were both currently running around the backyard with one of Hermione's paper kites.

"Look at them." Astoria said softly, "They look adorable." Hermione hummed as Draco nodded before adding, "The friendship that was always meant to be."

Hermione smiled sadly, "I'm just glad and blessed I have him in my life now. Godric knows how long my heart yearned for him. For my son."

Astoria placed her hands on top of Hermione's firmly.

"He's here now Hermione. He's now with us."

Hermione chocked back a sob.

After a few weeks of splitting his time between his parents James found his routine a bit lonely. Sure he would spend quality time with his mum and dad. But he never spent time with both of them. He always longed for them to be together. As one.

To live, play, and have dinner under the same roof. His weekdays consisted of him staying with dad in his house in Godric Hollow. His older cousin Teddy would visit all the time and take care of him when his dad had meetings. James loved the days when Ron would come over and take him and Teddy to the Burrow. Days with Mrs. Weasley were always fun.

However every evening his dad and him would spend one on one time alone. His dad would ask him questions about his time at the Foster Home while also sharing his sad experience at the Dursley's. One cold night James felt bad for making his dad cry after he told him that once a whole mob of kids bullied and tapped him into a chair. His dad didn't let go of him till the next morning.

Weekends were the only days James could see his mum in France. He knew his mum was an extremely busy woman but she always had time for him. She would sometimes have guest arrive to her house, like Mr. and Mrs. Scamander, who James thought were delightful people. Mr. and Mrs. Malfoy would come and visit with Scorpio. Sometimes James and his mum visited them at their manor.

Although James was still getting used to the Wizarding world he showed from the start a passion and love for quidditch. This made his dad extremely proud. Out in his mum's huge backyard James and Scorpio would practice till evening. At first James felt a bit reserved around Scorpio. After his only friend Leo left James didn't want to be abandon again but his mother helped him understand that Scorpio wasn't going anywhere and certainly not him as well.

Although everything seemed fine it wasn't for James. He felt sad and lonely with only certain days seeing a parent and living in two worlds. He needed both of them. Not one for a few days and then the next one.

As Hermione walked with James down Hogsmeade she couldn't help but notice at how silent her son was. He had a frown on his face and his eyes were holding back... tears?

Hermione stopped walking and immediately crouched besides James. "James, love, what's wrong?"

James slowly kicked a pebble as he whispered sadly, "I want to see Dad."

Hermione sucked in a breath. Oh mercy lewis, she didn't want to see Harry. Although Hermione wasn't a fan of visiting her ex lover she loved James more than anything in this universe. For him, she would do anything.

Even face her former lover.

"Alright then love. Let's go see your dad."

After explain the situation to Harry, Hermione felt a bit calmer now that Harry knew she was here for James and not voluntarily. Somehow Harry had convinced her to stay for dinner and James couldn't be more extastic. Although supper was fine Hermione noticed how James still had a frown.

Harry seemed to notice too as he asked, just before she was going to as well, "James what's wrong?"

Their son played with his stew for a bit before mumbling, "I don't feel so well."

Hermione reached towards him and placed her hand on his forehead. Her eyes widened.

"James you're burning up!" Hermione said suddenly gathering him in her arms. Harry was next to her in a flash and wrapping his strong arms around James.

"Why didn't you say you weren't feeling well buddy?" Harry asked worriedly as they rushed him to his room.

James gave his parents a sad smile before replying, "I finally had you both together. We at last had a dinner together. I'm happy."

Harry looked so sad as Hermione bit her lips from crying at her son's confession. James looked so weak in Harry's arms. He looked so tired. "James, my little Marauder, keep your eyes open for us please!" Hermione pleaded as she ran besides Harry's side and into James' room.

Although he tried listening to his mother James felt extremely tired. His eyes began to burn so slowly his eyelids began to close and the last thing he could hear was his mum and dad screaming for him.
