The betrayal... (15)

I rocked back and forth in the corner of the guild.

How could I have never noticed this?

It's something I've been around my whole life... how.

It's like I've been lied to my whole life.

I continued to rock back and forth as I tried to remove these thoughts from my head.

Back and forth.

Back and forth...

"-/N" Something snapped me out of my trance like state, I looked to my left to see Mira standing next to me, looking at me with concern.

"Pardon?" I said to her.

"I said, Are you okay, Y/N," She smiled as she placed a hand on my forehead, checking my temperature

"No... I don't think I'll be 'okay' ever again," I sighed as I stared blankly at her.

"Oh Y/N, why would that be." She stared at me with genuine concern hidden behind her crystal blue eyes.

"PIZZA'S ARE CIRCLES, WE SERVE IT IN SQUARE BOX AND WE EAT IT IN TRIANGLE!!" I yelled as I threw my arms around in frustration.

"That is the stupidest thing I've ever heard... No one could get upset over th-"

"OH, MY MAVIS!! YOU'RE RIGHT!" Natsu yelled before slumping down in his chair, in a similar fashion as I did.

"I stand corrected," Mira groaned and stood up, walking away before she heard another word from us. I took a bite of what started all of this... the pizza I ordered, it wasn't as hot as it first arrived (because I was too busy freaking out to eat it) but it's still fine.

"You know, you and Natsu are so familiar... have you ever considered dating?" Mira said out of the blue. I gasped in shock, almost completely forgetting there was half chewed pizza in my mouth... that was until I got it stuck in my windpipe.

I coughed and wheezed as I desperately tried to get oxygen to my lungs, only to be blocked by a ball of dough and cheese. I clawed at my throat in vain, trying to remove the blockage, with no success.

I lungs and head burned, it was like Lava had filled my lungs and was being pumped all around my body. Everyone stood around staring, not sure how to react, they were frozen in shock. Everyone looked at each other, not acting as the expected someone else would help me, and I was left there silently begging and screaming.

The Edges of my vision started to blur, before slowly being engulfed by darkness. My head pounded with every weakened heartbeat. Before the darkness fully engulfed my vision, I felt a strong pair of arms wrap around my waist.

I was pulled off the ground like a puppet, I was limp and lifeless. Next thing I know I was punched ridiculously hard in the back repeatedly, I suddenly coughed up the 'death ball' and was finally able to breathe again.

"Y/N! are you okay?!" Lucy yelled as she ran up to me, grabbing my face and forcing me to look at her.

"Pizza... is .... betraying me... today," I wheezed out as I took deep breaths.

"... She's fine," She groaned and instantly took my face out of her hands and walked away.

I turned around to look at my 'saviour', I was expecting to be greeted by Master, or maybe Gildarts... but no, I turned around it see a certain pink haired dragonslayer (whose arms were still wrapped around my waist) smiling at me.

"Hey, thanks for saving my life," I laughed as I tried to straighten up and turn around, which is surprisingly hard when you're hanging from someone's arms...

His face instantly went red and he struggled to gain his composure, "I uh... no problem... I wouldn't have anyone to... uh... fight if you were dead... so, you know,"

"Y-yeah, also, could you maybe put me down?" I muttered as I wiggled around in his iron grip.

"Ah... yeah, I could do that..." He responded, just as awkwardly as I asked. He slowly placed me on the ground and removed his arms from around my waist.

"Based on what happened last time, I probably shouldn't bring this up again... but, are you sure you two haven't even considered dating?" Mira prodded as she leant on the guilds bar (which she was supposed to be cleaning by the way).

"No! Definitely not!" Natsu blushed and scratched the back of his neck.

"W-What he said!" I stuttered as looked around the room, trying to avoid any eye contact I could.

"Natsu! Stop lying! I heard you las-" Happy mocked as he flew over Natsu's head before I could even blink Natsu had grabbed Happy out of the air and had thrown him straight through the guild roof, and presumably into space. Leaving a nice Happy shaped hole in the guilds roof.

"I'm probably going to go find him, you know, make sure he doesn't get eaten by a bear," He laughed, acting like he wasn't the one the threw him out of the guild.

"I'm going to go home, I don't want to deal with anymore mockery," I laughed, I was obviously joking... but I kind of wasn't. I followed close behind Natsu as I followed him out the guild doors, I wasn't intentionally following him of course.

"Hey Y/N?" Natsu asked out of the blue, catching me off guard. "I was just thinking about what Mira said," He continued.

"Yeah, what about it?" I prodded as I kept walking, it turned out that Happy happened to fly in the direction of fairy hills, so we're going the same way.

"What if we actually went on a date?" 8 words, that's all it took to cause my world to come crashing down around me.

"WHAT?!" I screeched, so loud that every window in a 15-mile radius probably shattered.

"Oh, my Mavis! I was kidding! Jeez," He said as he covered his ears... right dragon slayer hearing. "I just wanted to see if you'd react the same way you did last time," He laughed as she slowly uncovered his ears, shaking his head slightly as he tried to stop the ringing.

"I hate you," I hissed as I punched his shoulder.

"Well lucky for you, this is your stop, see ya!" He gestured to the dorm building before running off into the distance in search of Happy. I sighed a deep sigh and pulled my key out of my back pocket. I walked down the hallway and up to my room, unlocking that too.

I slammed the door behind me, leaning on it for support. I slowly slid down the door as I held my head in my hands, my face was so warm... it was almost as if Natsu had thrown a fireball at me. My head pounded as it seemed like my skin cooked in the heat, what was happening to me.

One thing kept echoing through my head,

'what if we actually went on a date?'
