Lassitude ~17

Ryan Dallas' pov

"Great practice today Dallas," Coach says to me as I walk out of the locker room.

"Thanks coach." Coach nods as he pats my back before making his way into the locker room. I walk around with my duffle bag and gear as I look for my uncle Jack and Sam, who wanted to come along and watch. Nash likes to come and watch most days. Except today he left to go to the airport to get Hayes and a few people.

I walk into the stands of the ice rink to find them on the other side. I slowly start to make my way around. As I get closer, I notice Nash and Hayes are here along with a few other people I'm not too familiar with.

"Hayes!" I say excitedly as I approach them. He turns with a smile and he makes his way over to hug me.

"Hello little man. It's great to see you again," Hayes says and we do our handshake.

"It's great to see you too. How have you been?"

"I've been good. I see you really improving on the ice. You had mad skills bro." Nash chuckles and I smile at his compliment.

"Uncle Shawn has taught me some of his ways."

"Good for you." Sam comes over and smiles at me.

"It's really cool watching you Ryan," Sam compliments. "You're so good."

"Thanks Sam. Thank you for coming to watch tonight. Little nervous about the tournament tomorrow."

"You're going to do fantastic," Nash says.

"Thanks Nash."

"I'd like you to meet some people." I nod as I look at everyone as they are all being introduced. Kian Lawley is Sam's wife's brother. Mia, I think her name is. I'm really bad at remembering names.

"So you're the Ryan Dallas your dad has been talking about?" Andrea asks with a friendly smile. I nod and JC nods and I laugh at his expression.

"Cool man," Jc says. "It's nice to meet you Ryan. I've heard a lot about you."

"Really?"

"Yeah," Kian smiles. "You may not remember us, but we were at your parents wedding."

"That's why you guys looks so familiar! I remember now." Everyone smiles as they look up and they turn to see Cooper.

"Hey Coop," Nash says.

"Hey Nash. Hi everyone." A wave of hellos goes around.

"You two ready for dinner at the house?" I nod as Coop and I start to lead everyone out of the ice rink.

~At the house~

"I would like to introduce my family," Sam says to me and I nod as we make our way out back towards the kitchen where the door to the back yard is opened.

"Okay," I smile and I put my bag down by the stairs before following him out into the back yard where I see many familiar faces.

"Ryan!" I turn towards a direction to see Jasmine, who is Matt's daughter, Ashley, who is Nash's daughter and Eva, she's Uncle Shawn's daughter. I smile at the three of them. They're all so close in age. I squat down as they surround me to give me hugs.

"Hi guys," I smile at their cuteness.

"I've missed you cousin Ryan," Eva says as she wraps her arms around my neck. I hold her in my arms as I hug her back. I stand slowly as Jasmine and Ashley hug my legs. Everyone around us 'awes' at the scene.
