An abandoned factory.

It really wasn't anything else. The site was mostly just boring concrete walls with very little roofs covering the inside. Slowly I got out of the car along with the rest of the gang only to be instantly hit with cold winds making me wrap my jacket tightly around me.

"Come On!!!" Darcy said excitedly, "this is exciting! Look, the intern is excited" she pointed towards Ian as he said his name for her only to have her ignore it. That feeling must be horrible. Having nobody really know you.

"Jane!" I shouted, grabbing her attention, "do you want the phase meter?"

"No" she said quietly as she turned her attention back towards the standing concrete walls.

"Bring the Phase meter" I heard Darcy say as I followed Jane as she walked deeper into the abandoned site.

"Jane, wait up" I shouted as I caught up with her, "you know how I don't like being alone in abandoned places." before she could give a reply her phone rang with a bazaar ringtone.

"How do I change the ringtone on this thing?" she asked, grabbing her phone out of her back pocket and answering it.

"A astrophysicist with three degrees should be able to change her ringtone." Darcy said into her phone as she walked into view with Ian holding all the scientific equipment we had in the car.

"Why are you calling her?" I asked.

"I didn't want to shout," Darcy said in reply as the two stopped in front of us. "Intern, the entrench is this way." she said before walking past Jane and I into the building.

"Ian, my name is Ian." I heard Ian say as he followed her. As we walked inside the building we began to hear weird clicking sounds and a few thuds here and there.

"I'm not getting stabbed in the name of science!" I whisper shouted towards the others but nobody heard.

"It's OK!!" Darcy shouted into the walls, "we're americans!!!"

"Is that supposed to make them like us?" Jane asked before he heard the sound of children talking.

"Make it go away....." one said.

"Ssh!" another whispered back before three kids crepet out of their hiding place.

"Oh, they're just kids" I said with a sigh of relief.

"Are you the police?" the little girl said, slightly shaking.

"No," Jane said, taking the lead of the situation, "we're scientists. Well I am."

"We just found it," one of the boys said quietly yet strong and confident.

"Can you show us?" Jane asked the three kids with a warm smile.

They three kids looked at each other before turning around and heading towards a concrete mixer truck, well that is what it looked like before the boy walked over and touched it making it levitate and begin turning in the air. I stood there shocked. Unable to move and my mouth hanging open like a goldfish.

"That doesn't seem rigged" Darcy said before the kids began to walk somewhere else and with my horrible amount of curiosity, I followed. They brought us towards a tall staircase and we all climbed up to about half way before one of the kids picked up an empty bottle before dropping down into the space between the winding stairs. It fell for a few seconds before disappearing into thin air.

"Where did it go!!!" I yelled looking over the broken railing. The girl pointed her finger towards a high part of the stairs and we watched as the bottle reappeared and continued falling disappearing and reappearing again and again.

"That's....incredible," Darcy said as we watch in awe. The boy reached out and caught the battle before placing it back on the ground. Jane then turned around and reached for an empty can and through it into the same path as the bottle. We waited for it to reappear but it never did.

"What happened?" I asked, a bit disappointed but still in shock.

"Sometimes they come back, sometimes they don't," the girl said with a shrug.

"I wanna throw something!!" Darcy said jumping up and down with excitement, "Jane give me your shoe!!" I turned to see Jane looking down at the gadget in her hands with a puzzled expression on her face.

"Jane?" I said as I walked up towards her and looked over her shoulder.

"I haven't seen readings like these since...." Jane's voice died off into the silence around us.

"New Mexico?" Darcy asked with a smirk across her face. Jane gave Dacy a meaningful look before rushing off to follow the high readings fhe was getting from the gadget.

"Don't Touch Anything!!!" I yelled back at them before running after Jane. I followed her down a maze of cement corridors before finding her standing looking down at a dark corridor. I grabbed onto her arm as a gust of cold wind blew past us making all the paper and leaves that were on the floor fly down into the darkness of the corridor. "Jane, what is happening?" I asked, grabbing onto her arm. As the wind picked up I closed my eyes in hope to keep any dust from getting into my eyes. I let out a scream as Jane and I got pulled towards the other end of the hallway before stopping. I felt the wind stop before hearing Jane calling out to Dacey before I finally opened my eyes and saw a great black column right in front of us. It was placed in the center of a walkway and surrounding us was rocky walls with archway doors and other platforms and walkways on them. I felt Jane move away from me and I turned to see her walking towards the column. As we got closer I began to notice carvings and a crack that went right through the middle making us see the other side.

"Jane I don't think you should touch that!" I said as Jane walked around to the other side of the column.

"Why would you say that?" she asked as her eyes looked over the object.

"Because it looks like it is standing on some sought of magic circle which means that it is a powerful object that should not be touched!"

"You read too many fantasy books" she said before slowly reaching out to the column.

"Jane Stop!!!! There's something moving in there!!!" I shouted at her but it was too late whatever was in the rock jumped out at her. A high pitch screeching noise came from the rock before whatever was inside reached out for Jane, grabbing her hand. It pulled her towards the rock before she quickly pulled her hand back just as the gap between in the center of the rock collapsed on itself making the column look like the gap was never there.

"Jane!!!" I cried as I ran around the column towards her. She was rubbing her hand as she stumbled around and I was almost too late to catch her as she collapsed. I didn't know what that thing was but I did know that it was powerful.
