Luke's POV

"How do you feel about me?" I ask and then the line goes silent.

Nothing..no response..

"You there?" after a few minutes I just couldn't take the silence.

"Yeah..umm...I'm here and," she starts but doesn't finish.

"And?"

"And I umm..I have to go..talk to you later." then she hangs up.

I should have expected that one after telling her I was in love with her and making out with her. Its not like she showed any signs of wanting to stop Nope. She just let me and it seemed pretty willing to me.

As of right now I'm sitting in my car not knowing what the hell to do with myself. My mother...she just died. I'm in love with my best friend...I don't even know anymore.

I got a call this morning from my Aunt Layla. She told me that she found my mom in the tub with no pulse. No scratch that, she didn't say that to me. No. She screamed and cried and sounded like she was hyperventilating. She told me she called an ambulance and to come to the hospital quick.

Its been about 3 hours since that phone call. I can't go to see my dead mother. I don't even know how she died.....

Question..because inquiring minds would like to know. Do you care how it happened?

Of course I do! She is my mom for god sakes! If she was...killed, then I need to know because I will find the person and strangle them. No other method of death is popping into my head right now.

Maybe its because I want to strangle someone anyway.

A call from Aunt Layla.

"Hello?" I pick up.

"Meet me at my house in ten minutes. You have to identify the body." ...I can't do that.

"You do it."

"You are her child. You should do it."

"That's precisely why I'm not going to. What child would want to identify their dead parent? I've done that once...not happening again."

Yes..I've done it before. For my dad about 4 years ago. I had to identify my fathers dead body at age 14. Made me depressed and the only one that could help was guess who.

Kara.

"Fine..but you have to come. Ten minutes, now get going." she says and then hangs up.

I am on my way to my aunt's house and I don't even notice myself start crying. I don't even know why anymore. I wipe away a tear and start to drive faster. Then-

Bam!

And everything went black.

Have you ever felt like the room was spinning? You probably have..well I feel like that. I don't even know where I am. I open my eyes to see 2 men and my Aunt Layla crying her eyes out. She always was extremely emotional.

"Did he seem to be intoxicated when you talked to him last?" one of the men asked my Aunt.

Still sobbing she responded with a simple "No."

"Lucas! Are you awake?" she says quickly walking towards me. And I just nod. I don't even have the strength to talk.

"Mr.Martins talk to us. We need to know what you saw."

What the hell is he talking about?! I look down...shit...what happened? I'm in a hospital bed and I can't talk.

I just point to my throat to show I couldn't talk. The men nodded and walked away leaving me with Aunt Layla.

"I called Kara from your phone and she's on her way. The girl really cares for you don't mess it up." she says once she stops crying. And I nod and attempt to talk and I just fail.

Then almost immediately Kara comes running into the room crying.

Everyone is fricken crying.

She sees me and her eyes widen. She comes over to me and touches my cheek and as soon as she does it stings. I must have some type of bruise there.

At least I didn't have some type of memory loss. ...I hope I don't. I can remember everything so far so I'm gonna guess I don't in high hopes.

I look down and there I see Kara on her knees. She has her hands clasped together and is mumbling to herself. I am guessing she is praying. When she is done she gets up and gets close to me and says something only I can hear "I love you too Lucas..."

Then I pull her down closer to me and hug her tightly. She says something else that I don't hear.

"What did you say?" were the first words I've said since this morning...I think it was this morning..yeah..this morning.

"I said," she paused and got up "Wanna go to the movies with me? Like...umm...a date?"

I pull her down again and kiss her. And then I ask "What do you think?"

I'm sorry this chapter is so short. But omggggg she asked him out!! I bet you didn't see that one coming! Or the car accident! I barely saw it coming lol xp.
