Prologue

I closed the door to my place and walked into the long corridor. I had a box of cupcakes in my hand. My phone was ringing in my jeans pocket. I took it out. It was the same person over and over again. Ignoring the call, I went up to the door opposite to mine and rang the bell. The door was opened by a girl. She looked like she was in her mid twenties, about my age. Her wavy brown hair was pulled up into a messy bun. It had streaks of blonde. Undone eyeliner covered her hazel eyes. Clearly, she was getting ready to go out somewhere. Giving me a smile she asked,"may I help you?"

"Umm.. Hi, I'm Ashley. Actually, I just arrived here" I pointed at my door,"staying on rent"

"Oh cool. U'r my new neighbor?" Her smiled widened. Her eyes twinkled in what I assumed was happiness.

"yeah" I stifled a laugh and handed her the box,"It's a gift"

"Thank you!" She squealed,"by the way, I'm Natalie" she extended a hand and I took it , shaking it,"Why don't you come in?" She asked.

"oh no! It's fine. I think you were getting ready to go out somewhere?" I said, hoping that she would ignore the amount of observation I had done on the very first meeting.

But she just laughed and said ,"oh come on in!" Then she grabbed my hand and pulled me into her flat.

So much for my over-friendly first encounter with my neighbor.

Natalie was in my flat. She sat on the dinning table cursing at the amount of pending emails she still had to answer. While I tried cooking up dinner for both of us.

"ASH!! THAT 'VINCENT' GUY IS CALLING YOU!" She screamed at me.

My eyes widening, I ran to the dinning table.

It was him.

I ignored the call and was about to go back to cooking when Natalie tugged at my apron,"Why do you keep ignoring his calls?" She raised an eyebrow.

"N-N-Nothing"

"For the past 3 months I've been your best friend, and I still haven't figured out this tiny bit of information. Mind giving me the story?" She crossed her arms

"later maybe?" I gave her a nervous laugh

Natalie returned to her laptop,"well, something tells me that 'later' is not coming any soon"

I heaved a sigh and ran back to the kitchen.

So this is honestly, going to be my first big story on wattpad (minus the previous failed attempt to write due to which I had to take it down). And I am more than excited to write this story :)
