Chapter 14: Shooting

Saturday. The best day of the week. No work, just hanging out with your crack-head friends.

The guys had decided to meet up at my place, which means I had exactly 30 more minutes before the others arrived.

It was 7:00 in the evening.

Natalie helped me with the snack supplies, while Jared and Vincent, set up our TV for a movie and the drinks.

Also, Jared was thinking of shooting his 150th vlog at my place, with something "interesting and new".

God knows what he meant by that.

By 8:00 everyone was at my flat. Mason had come back from New Zealand and had been sharing some of his most funniest stories. Jared captured some of those stories on his vlog camera. After a few stories, Jared wanted to create some 'content'. He wanted, Vincent being the newest member of his vlogs, to be the center of attention.

I have quite a few times been in the vlogs. Most of the times due to work, I couldn't go to the shootings. But sometimes, Jared would call me to be present, like it was my second job (something that I'd like to do though).

Jared faced his own camera and said,"So guys, everyone over here wanted to give Vincent a dare". Everyone around him, including me, cheered. "So we decided to ask him to flirt with our workaholic friend here, Ashley"

No. Wait. What?!

Why does he even do this all the time without warning me???

"... Using cliché pick up lines" he ended and made the camera face us.

I knew I was going pink. Like, C'mon!

Vincent was going to flirt with me!

Then it began. Vincent gave me a slight smirk and started flirting. The same way he had charmed other girls. Just this time, using cliché pick up lines. A total downer.

"Are you wifi 'cause I feel some connection?"

I blankly looked at him for a few seconds before bursting out laughing. Vincent grinned,"Do you smoke? 'cause weed be cute together"

Everyone else was cheering so hard, that my laughter was drowned in the noise. I could feel my cheeks flame up. Blood rushing to my face, I knew I was looking like a ripe tomato.

Vincent gave a small laugh and continued,"Geez! your hand looks heavy. Can I hold them for you?" He grinned and slipped his hand into mine.

Baby jesus! The tingles!

I took my hand away from his hand and covered my face while I laughed like a hyperventilating hyena on drugs because of his flirts.

Nope, not really an "aww" sight.

"Let's play heads or tails" Vincent took out a coin,"Heads, your mine. Tails, I'm yours"

"stop man!" I laughed at it. I was a tiny bit relieved that the camera wasn't directly facing me. Vincent took up most of the frame. Thank god.

Jared stopped rolling his camera. And gave him a thumbs up. I looked at Vincent, my face red. He looked at me with happiness glistening in his eyes. His lips stretched into a smile. Then he hugged me, and I didn't hesitate. I just didn't want the others to see how much this little session had affected me, which was pretty evident from my reddened face. I simply, happily buried my face into his chest, shaking with laughter.

Once we had left each other, Jared informed me that while editing he'd cut out the laughter pauses in between, so that my reaction to each of them were really small.

We went back to the couch to watch our movie. Me, mentally thinking that except for Natalie and maybe Jared, no one knew about my heart's doing the thump thump dance.

This illusion of mine, was completely shattered when Jared finally posted the video. Unlike the others in the room, Jared's viewers had noticed my blush and nearly every comment said one thing:

"Ashley and Vincent look so cute together"

Or technically, other permutation-combinations of the same line.

Yes. I know.

Holy crap a million times.
