Back again

Chapter 9: Understandings

That night we had dinner at Natalie's. She had cooked up some pasta with help from her boyfriend.

After dinner, I and Natalie were cleaning the table and doing the dishes because it was the girls' turn. I told her about Vincent's taking me out for shopping and buying me a dress. She squealed at the look of the dress when I showed her the picture.

"Why did he suddenly take you shopping?" She asked

"I don't know. Said that it was a 'gift for whatever I've done' for him till today" I shrugged.

"He's apologizing"

"I don't know. I'm just scared to trust him again" I said.

"I know you are" Natalie wiped the water off her hand and leaned against the counter to face me,"but I have a feeling he's doing all of this for some reason. I mean, he came to Los Angeles right after he knew that you were here! He could've come before he knew that you were living here right?"

"Maybe he was waiting for the right time" I said not looking at her. It was still a bit hard to trust him. I mean, yes, he is a friend. But it wasn't easy to bury the past. Not now that he is here.

"EXACTLY!"

But before Natalie could say something else, Jared burst into the kitchen. He had decided to eat with us since Mason was out of town for a month. He had gone to visit his family in New Zealand.

"Guess who's staring in my next YouTube videos?" He grinned

Vincent appeared at his side and leaned on the door frame. His white t-shirt hugging his chest. His lips were curved into a grin.

"Who?" Natalie asked him, giving him a peck on the cheek and hugging him.

Jared grinned and said "Vincent Reed!!"

"Him?" I stared wide-eyed pointing at Vincent.

"Yup!" Jared said and his eyes shifted from me to Natalie to Vincent, his eyes twinkling in excitement ,"And his looks would be enough to give me a couple of more views from the L-A-D-I-E-S" he sang and winked at Natalie.

Natalie laughed and gave me a knowing look that said,"True bro!"

I rolled my eyes

"Yeah right"

I heard a knock on my bedroom door and looked up from my Khaled Hosseini book.

Vincent popped his head in,"Mind if I came in and had a word with you?"

"Nope" I closed my book and kept it on my bed-side table.

He got into my room and came and sat down on my bed when I motioned him to sit.

"So I know that your forgiving me is not easy. I mean, I totally deserve whatever you're doing to me" he paused for a few seconds "but I'm happy that you still think of me as a friend. I don't think I'll be able to repay the damage I did very easily"

He paused again and looked at me. "Vincent---" I began, but he cut me off.

"But I ask you for one last favour. Like the ones that you have done for me all these years" then he looked at me. His blue eyes filled with hope.

"what?" I asked.

"Help me find a job and I promise to get out of your hair. Forever, if you want me to"

I sucked in a breath.

Forever, if you want me too.

"please" he said.

Something inside me broke.

"Yes", I agreed.

His lips curled up again into a smile. His dimples forming again. I suddenly wanted to touch them so bad, but restrained myself.

"Thank you" he whispered. His eyes lingered a bit more on my face. Then he leaned in, close to my neck. I was taken aback. His hot breath fell on my bare skin. My fingers dung into the bed sheets as I waited for any form of contact. But then he pulled back. He got up hesitantly, said,"Good night" and walked out of my room.

But it was not only his action, the other thing that kept going on and on in my mind were the words:

Whatever you are doing to me...

Forever, if you want it....

This is one of my favorite songs. Obviously because I'm a hardcore moonwalker :)

Anyway, if you're thinking that all of this is too fast, trust me, it's not. Somethings coming. Also because, like it goes, they already have a past.

I'll try updating ASAP. Mostly, because I'm going on a vacation for 10 days.
