Chapter 4

Suddenly I felt a pair of hand grab onto me, I went to scream but one of the hands covered my mouth so my screams were muffled.

"sshh...its me, your okay Eira. It'll be fine." I heard Robs calming voice.

He turned me around and pulled me into a brotherly hug as I cried into his chest with him saying soothing words to me. I don't know how long we stood there for until Rob said "I think we should start to go back to the house"

"Okay" I sniffed. "Do you think mums right?"

"Right about what?" He replied.

"Me going to boarding school."

"Well...um, she does have a point about you having memories of dad everywhere and it would probably be easier for you if you get away from them all." He told me.

"I guess, I mean if I go I'll be leaving you, mum and all my friends, I won't have any friends there. Where even is the school?" I asked.

"Um...I'm not sure. I think it's somewhere in the north of England." He said.

"Oh...so quite far away then" I look at the ground, I don't think I've ever been more that a 20 minute drive away from my family and that was only when I went to see a friend.

"A few hours drive I think, but that doesn't mean we won't come and visit you. I couldn't just abandon my baby sister now, could I?" He said

"Hey! I'm only 2 years younger" I said and hit him on the shoulder.

"Yep but you're still only 8 not 16 in my eyes."

"I'm nearly 17."

"No its not, we're in August and you're birthday is the 25th January, Eira."

"Whatever." I said and rolled my eyes. "Anyway how did you find me I thought I was lost?"

"I saw you went into the woods and followed you. Then when I couldn't see you I could hear you crying." He said, he looked like he wasn't telling me something but I let the subject go.

"Thanks, I think I would have been stuck there if you didn't."

"Hey anything for my baby sister" he raised his voice a bit when saying vary sister.

I was about to hit him again when I realised we where home and thought about the horrible things I said to mum.

"Hey, it'll be okay just go and apologise to her and tell her about boarding school" Rob said before opening the door.

"Did you find her?" I heard mum say "they haven't got her have they?" She rushed out at the end, I was still to the side of the thinking about what she had just said, who are they?

"Yeah mum I found her...Eira why are you standing there?" Rob came back to the door.

I gave him an odd look, he obviously knew who mum was talking about but choose to ignore the last question. I knew he knew who mum was talking about but knew I could hear them.

Mum came running to the door. "Oh thank god you're okay!" She said and pulled me through the door and into a hug.

"Yeah mum I'm okay" I whispered and hugged her back. "Sorry about what I said before"

"No, no it's fine we where all so emotional and I can tell you didn't mean what you said about us." She replied still hugging me.

"Mum..." I started and slowly pulled away from the hug.

"Yes sweetie?"

"I'll go to boarding school, if you want me to" I said

"Are you sure? I not going to force you to go it's your choice, i just want you to be happy."

"No mum, I want to go. I thought about it and what you said was true, I have so many memories of dad hear that it will be good to get away." I said and smiled at her.

A look of relief passes her face quickly, relief from what I don't know? But we were all kind of happy so I didn't question anything.

"Did you know I went to the school your going to?" Mum asked, I shook my head "Well it's were I met your father" she said with a small smile.

We then went into the lounge and mum told me about some of her memories at the school with her friends or with dad, and I won't lie but by the end of the night I was kinda looking forward to going.
