Inside the house was amazing! It kept on going, you would think that you where at the end of a corridor but you'd turn the corner and there would be another long corridor, filled with dark oak doors that had brass handles.

"Okay." Debbie said clapping her hands. "The boys rooms are on the bottom floor and the girls rooms are on the second floor. You are not to go to their rooms after lights out which is at 10 o'clock."

"Okay" and a small smile was all I replied with.

"Good, if I do see you go to their rooms it will be extra chores and also to the headmaster if I catch you more than once." She continued.

"Okay, I won't go to their rooms. I promise." I gave her another smile.

"Thank you! I might have a student who actually follows the rules!" She cried out jokingly.

My mum and me both chuckled. "Well there's a difference between what they say and what they do." Mum said back.

"That is very true, Lin." They both said looking at me. "Anyway enough of that subject I can see it's starting to make Eira a little bit embarrassed."

We carried on walking until we got to the lounge. It was an amazing room, it had a big sofa as well as 2 chairs, a long oak coffee table and a big TV mounted to the wall. There was a bookshelf on one side of the wall with had hundreds of books piled in, some neatly and others piled up on top of each other. On the opposite side there was a stone fireplace which helped make the room seem more relaxing.

"This is were the kids hang out if they're not in there rooms." Debbie said as we walked through the room.

"Wow it's a lot nicer than when I was here," mum told us as we were walking through "I don't even think we had a lounge I think we just stayed in our rooms, I could be wrong though."

"Normally the lounges in the houses you stay at, aren't that big. When you went here they probably didn't have them, most of the lounges used to be teachers rooms or the room for the people who look after the house. When they got this house there had to be quite a bit of remodelling and redecorating done to it because it was in very poor condition. This meant lots of walls were knocked down, so instead of rebuilding them they just made some of the rooms bigger." Debbie told mum.

After that Debbie continued to show us around the house and tell us the rules, let me just tell you they had a lot of rules. Although they weren't that bad, I've heard of places who have worse. A few examples of the rules are:

- You must ask for permission before leaving to anywhere else other than school and should say where you are going.

- You don't leave your room after lights out unless it's to go to the toilet, to get a drink or there is an emergency.

- You are not allowed to cause any fights with your house mates or anybody else.

- You should tell Debbie if there are any problems (personal or otherwise).

- You need to tell Debbie if anyone of coming to visit in advance.

- You always do you chores unless you want extra.

I thought that most of the rules were reasonable and fair but I found a particular one quite embarrassing and awkward when it got brought up, it was you so not sleep with anyone. I mean I know I'm a teen but did she really feel the need to say that! As soon a she said it I felt my cheeks burn up but just continued to stare at the intricate patterns that were carved into the wood on the walls.

••

After about half an hour we had finished the tour of the house and had starting to bring all my things inside.

"Okay so this is your room," Debbie said as she opened the door. "You don't share with anyone so you have the whole room to yourself."

When I stepped into the room, I knew exactly how I wanted my things to go in there. It had dark wooden floors and the same for the dresser, wardrobe and the bed frame, the walls were white and had two big windows on either side of the bed.

"Well...lets start unpacking." Mum said as she turned to look at me.

"I've got to go and make some dinner for when the kids who are already here come back, so I'll leave you two to it," Debbie told us with a chuckle, "do you want to stay for dinner, Lin?"

"Oh no, it fine. Wouldn't want to embarrass Eira." Mum replied.

"Okay then if you sure." Debbie said as she closed the door.

As soon as the door closed, I looked around my new room, there was boxes everywhere. It's hard to think that I was only going to be here for a year or two. With all the boxes you'd think I was moving here for the rest of my life.

"So...do you want to do your wardrobe or room?" Mum asked clapping her hands together.

"Um...we can both do my room now so it's finished by tonight and then I can do my wardrobe later or tomorrow." I replied.

"Sounds like a plan." And with that we both started to open boxes and sort my room out.

Hope you enjoyed this chapter! Sorry it's not very long, didn't have much time to write but wanted to get a chapter up for you guys.

I haven't edited any of the chapters, so sorry if there are any mistakes. I will probably go though and edit when I have finished the book.

Anyway, how was you day? I had a good day, it was 21 degrees Celsius! That's basically considered as a heatwave in Wales.

Remember to tell me what you think in the comments.
