I looked back and remembered the first time that I had met with Pamela.
Across a smoke filled lesbian bar our eyes had met and that was the be the start of something which would last for centuries.

Neither of us knew what was to come of that fateful meeting and neither of us could have imagined that we were on a collision course to meet a vampire and become his servants.
Nosferatu?
A name from legend, a name to be feared.

But now the name was indeed legend and we had made our own future and mine was at the side of my lover.

Who I was losing to some new young blood.

But it didn’t matter because I always won in the end and I prepared for the battle with this veronica who would have to get with the plan quickly or be drown in a sea of her own blood.

That was something that humans didn’t know about us, the mere fact we were vampires was never everlasting and we could easily become human again.

I remembered when this nearly happened to me, how I had been with Pamela and another girl, how her blood tasted so sweet.

And then the girl expired and I wasn’t aware.

My next feeding consisted of tainted blood and if it wasn’t for Pamela being there then I would have felt my heart beginning to beat and that would be the end of me.
Right now I was doing her bidding and approached the building called the Waldorf.

*

I decided to take the elevator and after persuading the pretty young thing behind the reception to give me the room number I was now on my way.

I reached the room to discover that the door was wide open.

There was the possibility of trouble and so I approached it cautiously, I could see a mirror against the far wall and took a moment to use it, warping the image to take in an angle.

Of course I had no reflection but that didn’t matter at this moment instead I saw that the woman Cordelia was asleep on the bed, her arms were attached to tubes which led to a bag of blood.

I licked my lips at the sight of fresh supplies but the scene was completely unusual, what was going on?
I moved further into the room and failed to spot that someone was stood behind the door until I felt a dagger pierce my shoulder.

I reeled back in shock and feigned a weakness which allowed me to get a good look at my assailant.

“Take a good long look you undead filth”
I staggered back, trying to remove the dagger but it was lodged as though by magic.
“Who are you?”
“We have never met but let me just say that the plan I put in motion to lure one of your kind here was very successful”.

“Plan……..what are you talking about?”

“Cordelia is my sister, she agreed to the mission”.

I had walked into a trap, but how fatal can it be to someone who is already dead?

“In case you are wondering the dagger is doused in holy water and is slowly degrading the bone and tissue, I would try and remove it if I were you”.

With an almost bone cracking tear I pulled it out and watched as the blood that surrounded the dagger began to be absorbed into its blade.

“What now?”
“Announce yourself Vampire”
I smirked.
“This body belongs to Erica Menzies”.
I watched her eyes widen.
“Well I am one lucky girl, the number two indeed”.

“I don’t know what you hope to gain by this, Pamela will destroy you for this”.
She shook her head.

“I don’t think so, you see the dagger has special properties……its done its work and should you come into contact with Pamela well lets just say that all your plans will go up in smoke, a bit like when you vampires had sunlight issues”.
I had to think and quick because without the power of rejuvenation then I was doomed.

“Take a message to Pamela”
“What?”
“She thinks that her puny forces have the advantage in Rome but a lot has happened in the past few months”.
“What do you mean?”
“Catalonia”
I couldn’t believe what I was hearing.

“Yes, we made a new treaty with them, and we have many of their warriors available at command to deal with you, now get out of my sight”.

“The poison in the dagger?”
“Concentrated, you have nothing to fear”.
“So this was an elaborate ruse to tempt me here?”
“I had hoped to get someone else who was not as important but it looks like the sun was shining on me, now leave”.
