"Honey," a soothing male voice cooed. "Honey bunches, you have to wake up. It's not your time yet, we can't let that prick win."

I opened my eyes to what appeared to be the Jennings' front lawn, only it was no longer night; the sun was beaming down on me. I peered to my left and locked my hazel eyes with the hazel eyes that gave me mine.

"Dad?" I asked as tears flooded.

"Hi Scarlett."

"Dad," I cried out and sat up flinging my arms around him.

"It's good to see you too, but you need to will yourself to wake up, your head is going to hurt but you'll be alive. We can't let CJ win, honey."

"Dad, why can I see and feel you? Am I dead?"

"No, not yet, you got a substantial concussion when you hit the ground which nearly killed you, but your soul is strong enough to hold on. You can wake up, Scarlett."

"But what if I want to stay with you? Mom doesn't want me anymore, and I'm sure the Jennings won't want me around much longer, especially Asher."

"You don't get to see the things that I can see," my dad wrapped his arms around me, "That boy loves you more than you realize. I've seen the way he talks about you, I've seen the way he looks at you when you're not paying attention. He's head over heels in love with you just as you are with him. Don't give up on him, I can see your relationship going places."

"You can see the future when you die?!" I asked in shock.

He chuckled, "No, it's just dad's intuition."

"I do love him, dad, I've never felt this way about anyone before."

"I know, it's a wonderful feeling, isn't it?"

"A wonderful, terrible feeling."

"Just wake up, honey, he's freaking out about you, he needs you. And I will always be with you. I love you."

"I love you, too," I whispered as my dad became blurry and slowly my eyes opened to find Asher hugging my body to his chest, sobbing.

"Scarlett, I'm not ready to let you go, please, please come back to me."

"Asher," I choked out right before I took a deep, desperate breath to refill my lungs.

"Scarlett!" he exclaimed pulling me even closer. I continued sucking in strangled breaths until my lungs were working properly again. "Your breathing was so slow I thought I was losing you. I don't know what I would have done had I lost you." I adored the fact that he wasn't afraid to show emotion to me, his tears brought tears to my eyes and suddenly both of us were crying holding one another.

We needed that moment - the moment to be there, together, in our own world. The night had been more than overwhelming in many ways and we needed this time to breath, cry, and hold each other as close as humanly possible. After the vision of my dad in my unconscious mind, I just needed Asher to hold me and show what my dad was telling me about when he mentioned how deeply Asher loved me. This moment, this one moment after he thought he was losing me proved how much he cared.

"I love you so much, Asher," I sobbed, clinging tightly to the back of his shirt.

"What is going on out here?!" Danielle came running out wrapping her night robe around her body with Jeremy following closely behind.

Instantly, Asher was on high defense. "Go call the police. I know our outdoor cameras caught that bastard trying to kill her again. If they ask where he is, tell them I'll call them once I find his sorry ass and strangle him." He roughly kissed my forehead and pulled away from me ready to track CJ down.
