It's been two straight days. He still hadn't shown up to School. Today was Friday and since the auto shop thing, he hasn't shown up in art classes and I also haven't seen him anywhere in campus. Don't get me wrong, I was relieved that his threat could be empty, but I also got this strange feeling of wanting to see him again. I just can't make up my mind on what I feel about him.

"Hey tramp, your schedule's flexible, right?" Natalie asked, driving towards School with me in the passenger's seat.

"Flexible?" I raised an eyebrow

"Yeah, like, you can show up when you want and anytime you want?" she specified

"Yeah, but I want to work five hours max" I told her

"You should work at one thirty today or two o'clock" she said

"Why?" I asked her

"Because mom and dad want to have dinner with us, don't know why" she said, easily avoiding the question "maybe because of the bears and stuff again"

"Uhh..yeah, okay" I reluctantly nodded "But School doesn't end until three fifteen"

"There's going to be an event today. Not sure what, don't care where, but a lot of students and teachers are going, so... I guess they'll cut school to half day" she said, with a shrug

How she knew that was beyond me. "Umm... so, dinner's what time?" I asked, seeing I had no escape.

"Six thirty or seven o'clock, why, you got a date?" she teased

I scoffed "Yeah, right"

"By the way, Jaymes, who's your first kiss?" she asked

"Baxon" my answer was immediate, a smile on my lips threatening to come out as a laugh

"Not pets" she said "I mean humans, seriously Jaymes!"

I laughed. Baxon was our golden retriever. He had been Riley's dog since forever. Sadly, Baxon died when I was twelve. He was too old, they said.

"Well, there was one" I told her

"Who?" she beamed, ready to dig up gossip

We neared school and she turned to park the vehicle.

"Well, you remember Drake Johnson?" I slowly asked, eying her.

She turned the engine off and faced me "Blue eyes and blond hair?"

"Yeah, him" I replied "He kissed me once. Before he left"

"You were thirteen then" she stated

"Yeah, I was" I answered

"Oh! You bad girl!" she teased, unclicking her seatbelt and stepping out

I followed.

"Natalie, it was a quick kiss. Like really, really quick" I explained to her in a whisper, walking next to her toward the school

"Oh?" her expression of uninterest "He was boring, then?"

"No. He was fun to be around with" I replied

"Yeah, around" she wagged her eyebrows and her tone changed to teasing at her last word "too bad he's gone"

Way to say the truth, Nat.
