Dan and Phil Boyfriend Imagines

The Story

A/N This is going to be an entire authors not where I'll tell you what each character in this book has been based off of. I have been trying to avoid a chapter like this but after looking through all of these chapters to refresh my memory for a new one. But then I remembered all the characters I have incorporated into this work. So I thought I'd just dedicate a chapter to enlighten you and it may also help you get to know me a little bit better (if you're one of those readers tat does like to get to know the author). So in order, here we go.

Y/N : any reader knows, Y/N means your name so clearly you'd think the character is based off you. Wrong. You don't realize that it's more based on the author until you write. So yes, the character you read as is indeed based off how I would handle most situations and would interact with others. But some chapters have been based off cliches. Such as The Day After. Personally if I was cheated on I'd be upset but neither of the ways that situation was handled were ways I would have reacted myself. I'm a very rational person so the girly cliche was more so for a majority of your own personalities...probably.

Layla and Casey : these two were based off the two major types of fan bases, obviously. Layla is loud and very expressive of her opinions whilst Casey is kind of a ghost follower because she appreciates who she follows but is more quiet with her thoughts. However, these two are also based off two friends of mine. Layla was based off a friend I had that was very aggressive and strict with their thoughts of people. Later on that friend ended up getting frisky with my significant other. But that was much later than  when I wrote The One Where You Don't Understand so let's just go with I'm a psychic. Casey however  is based off a very quiet friend of mine that I'm still good friends with, as you also are within the story.

Janice : YES even Janice is based off of something. except it's not really a figure in my life, it's more of an idea. Janice is based off of your conscience. Notice how the one chapter you go to Starbucks and she's not there is when your ex shows up. She wasn't needed. Phil worked it for you as you stood not knowing what to think. But in other chapters such as A Few Months Later she's there and at a point where she's used to you needing her. At that point of the story you need her most as you grieve over Phil without even being aware of it yourself until Janice helps you along to the idea. I mean think about it. The reason you go back to Phil is because of a broken piece off a Starbucks cup, and minus the symbolism of being the part of the cup used to ask you out, it's a sign of Janice being there to make that final decision. 

Your Parents : On Phil's side of the story, they...are based off my own parents. Yes, I am a privileged white girl. My family has always been a bit more a...enriched...people. But just like you in the story, I' not a huge fan of it. So whenever Phil interacts with your family they always are shown as privileged people. The parents on Dan's side are more of something that I see my life as. Something casual and more calming.

Your Cousin and Lainey : Your cousin is actually based on my cousin. Perky, looks like you ,and very emotional (demonstrated at the end of When He Babysits when she breaks down in tears because of Lainey sleeping). Oh yeah, the clean freak part too. Lainey, however, was originally meant to be based off her sister but later I ended up basing her off of my own sister in the way she describes pink and how she acts in treating you.

And that's it. There are more but these were the main few I thought I'd like to cover. If things go as planned a new official chapter will be out tomorrow.
