Part 3 ~Jordan~

My breaths come out sharp and cold, feeling like fire in my lungs. I slide around turns, grabbing walls and flinging myself forward so I don't have to slow down, and 'cause it looks bad ass.
I grin as my legs burn, adrenaline pumping freely through my veins.
I skid to a halt, trying to look badass, but instead trip and end up as a mess in the floor.
I scramble to my feet and bang on Toby's door, calling out to him telepathically.
-Yeah?-
I grin as the kid responds with his usual arrogant response.
-We're getting the hell out of here, hurry your ass up and get out here!-  I send to him excitedly, bouncing on the balls of my feet.
-OH GOD WHAT HAVE YOU DONE YOU IDIOT.- Toby's send is so loud I instinctively cover my ears.
-Get out here.- I command, rolling my eyes.
-Fine.-
There's a pause, but the door doesn't open.
-Dude, do your magic and open the door. It locks from the outside dumbass.- Toby sends, clearly irritated.
-Are you serious?!- I send anxiously. This is taking too long, we don't have much more time for this, I can't afford letting the two of us get captured.
-How do I open it?- I send, walking up to the glass panel to the left of the door.
-Try prying the doors open.- Toby suggests.
-I THOUGHT YOU WERE THE COMPUTER KID?! CAN'T YOU DO SHIT WITH THE PANEL?!- I take a deep breath to calm myself. -Toby, if I pry the doors open that will set off some kind of alarm for sure.-
-It shouldn't, the humans have done it before. Apparently the door is faulty.- Toby grumbles, sounding as if he's been hurt by my outburst.
-I'll try.- I send, then step in front of the doors.
Focusing on the doors, I imagine them sliding open, then put my hands up, palms facing towards the massive metallic doors. My blue magic seeps from my hands in strong waves, working its way into the slit between the doors. I brace myself, then wrench my hands apart with all of my might. The iron doors crumple like paper as they are ripped apart, leaving a Toby sized hole.
"Well, that's totally not obvious." Toby says, stepping through the crushed door and rolling his bright green eyes. Toby is super small, probably the youngest out of the three of us, but most likely the one with the highest IQ. He has messy chocolate coloured hair, deer ears, small nubs of antlers and white freckles dotting his nose cheeks and ears. I've honestly never understood shifters, but all I know is that the ears, nubs, and freckles are part of him. Shifters choose their appearance based upon what makes them comfortable. Normally when a shifter changes forms it expends energy, from what I understand, but it doesn't take energy to use their base form.
"Save your smart-assed comments for later." I grumble, then I scoop Toby up, sling him over my shoulder, and race down the hallway. I took way too much time bickering with this little shit, and we might not make it in time.
----------
We're steps away from the door to the computer room when the alarms sound.
I unceremoniously dump Toby on the ground, slam the door shut, then use magic to pile a few tables against the door. I finish and plop into one of the fancy swivel chairs, still panting from my sprint.
Kat and a kid I don't recognize are sitting in other chairs opposite from Toby and I.
The kid has fluffy lavender coloured hair, looks to be about three quarters my size, has body of a twig, and deep violet eyes. They hunch their shoulders forward in a cowardly stance, as if they're in a constant state of being nervous, and their eyes flick back and forth across the room, as if something might jump out at them. They are currently looking straight at me, sizing me up, but not in a bold manner.
I stand up, stride over to them and extend a hand in greeting. "The name is Jordan."
"I'm A-Alex." They stutter, nervously shaking my hand. I can feel their hand trembling in mine.
"So," I say, backing up to the middle of the room, "how are we getting out of here? Any ideas?" I ask everyone generally, looking around at the three others.
Kat and Alex shrug, looking a bit lost.
"I've got an idea, but you guys might not like it." Toby says with a grin, his ears twitching with excitement.
Kat immediately shares his grin. "I'm in!"
"Just joking, I've got nothing." Toby states, leaning back in his chair looking a bit disappointed.
