Natalia's POV:

"Come on Natalia." My best friend Kayla calls. I roll my eyes. I get out of bed. First day of school.

I put on my clothes. I run down stairs grabing a piece of toast of the counter that my mum had made for Kayla and I. "Thanks mum." I say. Kayla and I start the walk to school.

"I wonder who the new kid is." Kayla states.

"What new kid?" I ask.

"Oh, I forgot your not that social." She teases, causing me to roll my eyes. "His names Lachlan, and he just moved to Sydney. I wonder if he's cute. You could use another friend."

"Whatever." I say. I'm more of the type of person to stick to myself.

~at school~

I walked down the hall. I'm glad schools over for the rest of my life after this year. I open my locker and happen to see blue eyed boy walking up next to me. He must be Lachlan. Do I give it a go? Nah. He is cute. Kayla was right. He opens his locker which is right next to mine. I grab my books and shut my locker. Kayla points at him and mouths 'He's cute! Talk to him.' I roll my eyes for the third time this morning.

I hear his locker shut.

"Excuse me? " he asks sweetly. His voice is even cute.... Wait, WHAT am I saying. I turn around. "Where is room 165?" He asks. I look at my schedule seeing I have the same class room.

"Follow me. I'm Natalia by the way" I say putting my hand out for him to shake.

"Lachlan." He says shaking my hand. We walk to class.

"Do you have a free class?" I ask.

"Yeah. Its next." He said.

"I can show you around then. I have a free period next too." I say.

He smiles. "Thanks." He says.

"You're welcome." I say.

~End of the day~

"Kayla." I said. She turned around.

"Hey." She said. "Lets go. I hate school already." She said. I rolled my eyes.

"Natalia." I heard Lachlan. I turned around.

"Hey." I smiled "Lachlan, this is Kayla, Kayla, this is Lachlan." I introduce them.

"It's nice to meet you Kayla." Lachlan says.

"It's nice to meet you too Lachlan." Kayla says.

"What's up?  I ask

"I was just gonna ask if I could get your number?" He said.

"Oh, sure. It's 290-8528." (Fake number)

"Thanks. I'll text you." He said

After we were far enough away Kayla said "He's so into you."

"I don't know... Remember what happened when I got close to someone."

"I don't think Lachlan is anything like Prest-"

"Don't say his fucking name." I said louder than I wanted to.

"Well I don't think Lachan is like Him."

"Well I don't know him that well yet. So for now, I won't take my chances."

"Fine." Kayla said.

~when Natalia is home~

I went straight to my room. Bringing Him up was a mistake. I now can't help but feel like I'm not good enough now. Okay, so him is Preston Arsement. He's my ex. We dated for two years and then he kissed another girl right in front of me and then said I was useless and worthless and broke up with me, and then he moved.

I wiped the tear falling down my face. My phone went off.

~Flashback~

Preston walked me to my locker kissing me before walking to his. I grabbed my books and turned around and walked towards Preston. He kissed another girl. My heart shattered.

"Preston?" I asked heart broken.

"You were a waaste of time. Your worthless and pathetic. I never really loved you anyway. Your a bitch." He said and walked away. I ran to the bathroom and cried my eyes out.

~Flashback Over~

Did i say something wrong?

Natalia💛;
No. Idk if i can. I have to ask my mom later.

Okay. See you tomorrow.

What do I tell him? I havent really hung around a boy since last summer. I'll give Lachlan a chance.

~Next day~

I walked to my locker.

"Guess whos back!" I heard a voice I hated so much. I ignored him at first until he slamed my locker shut. "You're rude babe." He said. I rolled my eyes.

"What do you want?" I asked.

"I missed you."

"No you didn't Preston." I said.

"But I did. I never broke up with you." He whispered in my ear. I pushed him away from me. "But baby girl." Preston pulled me into his arms. I tried to get away, but his grip was too strong. Lachlan walked up and saw me struggling to get away from Preston.

Lachlan pushed Preston enough so I could get away. I sprinted hearing Lachlan yell my name. I went into the bathroom. Why is he back? I heard someone come in the bathroom.

"What's going on Natalia?" it was Lachlan

"Why are you in the girls room? " I asked sniffling.

"Because you're my friend and I care about you. Who is he and please come out." I stood up and unlocked the stall. I had tear stained eyes. Lachlan pulled me into his arms. I hugged back. I cried into his chest. "It's okay. " he whispered softly in my ear. He rubbed my back. "Do wanna leave?" He asked.  I nodded. He wrapped his arm around me.

~Lachlan's house~

"What happened? Who is he?" Lachlan asked holding me close to him.

"He's my ex boyfriend, his name is Preston. He kissed a girl in front of me about a year back and called me rude things and then moved." I said Lachlan rubbed my back. "That's why I was scared to say yes to your offer. " I whispered.

"I'm sorry. I didn't know." He whispered in my ear.

"You're nothing like him. I'm just scared to fall in love again." I said. He kissed my head and continued to rub my back. It's funny how some people that you've known for a while you don't feel as close too as you feel with someone you've only known for a short time.

I fell asleep on Lachlan.
