Arabella walked with pep in her step as she approached the sign in booth. Her perky smile and energy could light up a room. This is where dreams come true. This is the D.C. Performing Arts University.
Bella had spent her whole life working for her dreams. Most people she met along the way were handed their success on silver platters, even though they hardly wanted it. Not Bella. She was going to work her tail off to get what she wanted. A full scholarship to one of the greatest performing arts universities in the country after four years of community college? Yeah, her hard work payed off.
"Name please?" Asked the tired, unenthused women at the booth.
"Arabella McFreed," she said cheerfully. The lady scanned a list before reaching into some files. She handed Bella her schedule. "Thank you!" She exclaimed. The women gently nodded before assisting the next student. Bella strode to her first class, her soft brown hair bouncing behind her.
Number 241. 241 24... here it is! She thought to herself as she found her classroom. Classical Music History. Bella walked through the opened door and found a seat in the large auditorium. She sat towards the front and took out her notes. She doodled before the class quieted as the teacher walked in and stood by the whiteboard.
"Good Morning class," he said with a smile, "I'm Professor Spencer, but please, call me Professor Miles," he then passed the syllabus to the students at the end of the row, who passed them down to their peers.
Bella looked closely at the tall figure. He seemed so... familiar. He had deep brown eyes, fluffy brown curls, and glasses. He looked to be in his late twenties. He was pretty cute. He walked up and down the stairs almost with a limp, but it was very subtle.
She shook herself. There was no way she would know this man. She was from California. His syllabus said he was raised in D.C.. The chances of them meeting were slim to nothing.
Bella took notes for the rest of class. Professor Miles was a good teacher. He was serious, yet joking at the same time. He clearly loved what he did. Bella knew she'd look forward to this class. Time was up, and Professor Miles began wrapping up.
"I look forward to teaching you this year. Thanks for watching, beans-" he froze. The students looked at him strangely before Professor Miles laughed. "Sorry, as I had said, this is my first year. I'm just a little mixed up," he chuckled. "See you next CLASS, students," the students have slight laughs.
All except for Bella.
