I like this activity.
Well, I always did, that's why I loved being a leaguer. Because despite our noisy schemes and rule breaking habits, we are still lovers of nature. Haven't I said it before? We usually always have a cleanup drive before and after games in the venue.
So this instance, the gang and I chose before. And here we are, cleaning up, picking up pieces of trash. Marshal and Niall were holding the trash bags while we pick up the litter on the ground.
There were occasional trips and such but seeing as we are only half of the gang, there wasn't much laughter in it as it used to when we're complete. Right now, it's just me, Taylor, Jhanelle, Marshal and Niall.
"Tonight better be a fun game, Harry. Jhanelle muttered. Technically, we couldn't get sweaty as we were walking through a forest in the winter so it's definitely cold.
"Unless we're in the same team." I said. "If we are, we should hunt down Taylor." I added and I know she heard that.
I saw Taylor roll her eyes, she lowered her beanie first and then said, "Why? Can't you beat me on your own?"
"Skills, I can match with you." I trailed, "Game records, I'm better than you." Which is true but still I continued, "Come face to face, I wouldn't do anything to harm you."
"You shot me last time!" Taylor retorted in a loud voice.
"Didn't I tell you? If one bullet lays on you, I'll stay. One bullet did, and it was my bullet. I was basically hinting that I was coming back for the next sem!" I explained, almost the same exasperated tone that she used, leaving her slightly speechless.
She's brilliant, we all know that but I couldn't expect her to get every riddle I throw at her especially when some aren't really in the forms of riddles.
I heard the gang throwing in teases and exchanging bets behind us but I couldn't find it in myself to mind. Plus, they've been doing it since the first week.
"Wow." Taylor finally spoke up. "Forgive me for not analysing every poetic move of yours."
"But you've analysed some." I replied with a smile.
That game that night was very, very lucky. Taylor and I got on the same team, West and of course, it gave Ajax some sort of a headache as he knew who would win but Taylor and I told each other we wouldn't take it seriously. We didn't. South won again while West came in second place in the overall.
"Good game, AM." Ajax said patting me on the shoulder. "You and Riptide make a really good team."
"Couple." Jhanelle corrected and I've got no plans to correct that.
Ajax chuckled a bit, "Yes, maybe so. Anyways, you interested on the dirt track event tomorrow? It's a leaguer activity, you know."
I nodded with a smile, "As entertaining as that would be, no. I wouldn't like giving any of my friends some heart attacks. I get pretty reckless in bikes."
"You know how to drive motorcycles?" Taylor asked in surprise. I wondered, replaying my memory if I ever told her that I know how, but I couldn't quite remember.
I scratched my head, "Erm, yeah haven't I mentioned it?"
She blinked a few times, "I don't think you have."
"Just let me know if you change your mind." Ajax said and walked off.
After changing into our normal attires, we went our separate ways and as usual, I walked Taylor home. We stopped by a park first and it sort of reminder me about that scene in Notting Hill. To be honest, I thought she was doing it on purpose.
