 Lillian's POV

After freaking out, I quickly get ready; showering and picking out something to wear. By the time six thirty came around I was fully prepared for the date. I've got a really cute outfit on -but it's casual, like Niall told me-, I've got my purse filled -but not over-loaded- with necessities, and a mental list of do's and don't's. Yeah, I had to make a list so I knew what to do and what not to do.

After checking everything for the umpteenth, my buzzer goes off, letting me know that there's someone at the gate. I run to the door and look at the little screen to see who's there, even though I already know who it is. Seeing that it's Niall, I press the buttons to unlock the gate and the door that leads into my apartment building. A couple of minutes later, Niall's knocking on my door. I open it and say, "Hey, Niall!"

"Hey, Lily!" He greets me, "Are you ready?"

"Yeah, just let me put my shoes on quickly." I say, then grab my shoes off of my bed and put them on. "All good."

"Okay, let's go." He smiles, grabbing my hand and walking out of my apartment, not forgetting to shut and lock the door. We walk out of the building and through the gate to Niall's car. He opens and closes my door for me, being a very sweet gentlemen.

"So, are you going to tell me where we're going now?" I ask as Niall starts driving.

"It wouldn't be a surprise if I told you." He tells me, his answer obviously being no.

"Oh, c'mon, Niall. Does it really have to be a surprise?" I complain.

"It makes it more fun. And besides, the dates in all the cliché romance movies are surprises and the girl loves it." He says, making me giggle a little. Wait a minute. He said dates. Did he just confirm that this is a date? I know I thought this is a date, but I wasn't sure if he did or not.

"Like you've ever watched any cliché romance movies." I snort, distracting myself from my thoughts.

"I have too!" He says, making me giggle more.

"Really? Which movies have you watched that have surprise dates?" I ask, not believing him.

"Okay, fine. I haven't watched any that have surprise dates, but I have watched cliché romance movies." He confesses.

"Like?" I raise my eyebrows.

"I've watched Titanic, The Notebook and a few other movies I can't remember." He lists.

"Of course you've watched the most cliché romance movies out there." I laugh.

'Hey, they're good movies!" He defends the movies.

"I know that. It's just that they are the most cliché out of all romance movies. Like, what about The Lucky One? Or Charlie St. Cloud? Those are good movies." I tell him.

"Those both have Zac Efron in them." He points out.

"So, he's hot." I say, making Niall laugh. Before either of us can say anything, we stop at what I assume to be our destination.

"We're here." Niall says, affirming my assumption.

"Where exactly is here?" I ask, not having a clue as to where we're at.

"We're at Central Park, how could you not know?" Niall asks. (AN: I've decided to make them live in NYC, since that's about the only large city I know a lot about. And Central Park is a lot nicer place in the book than it is in real life.)

"I've never been here before." I answer.

"How long have you lived here?" He asks, curiously.

"In the city; about a year. But I lived an hour outside of the city for four years." I tell him.

"Well, I hope tonight will be a memorable first time being in Central Park for you."  He smiles at me. We walk further in to the park, looking at the pretty view. Summer nights are really nice here in New York. I look at Niall and realize that he has a blanket and a picnic basket in his right hand, the one that's not holding my hand.

"Is here a good spot?" Niall asks, pointing at where we're standing.

"Yeah." I nod. Niall then lays out the blanket, puts down the picnic basket and sits down. I sit down across from him, sitting criss-cross style

"So, if you can't tell yet, we're having a picnic. I've got some peanut butter and jelly sandwiches, a small selection of fruit and cupcakes, because everyone likes cupcakes." He informs me. It's a good thing I'm not allergic to anything.

"Yum." I say, then we start eating. Actually, we play with our food more than we eat it. After a little while, I throw a grape at Niall.

"What was that for?" He laughs.

"You were supposed to catch it!" I giggle.

"Do it again." He says. I throw a grape at him again, this time aiming for his mouth, and he caught it in his mouth.

"Woooo!" He cheers, showing off the half chewed grape in his mouth.

"Eww, Niall! Close your mouth." I laugh, putting my hands up to block the view of Niall's mouth. Niall just opens his mouth even more, laughing at my reaction. I quickly grab a cupcake and smear frosting on his nose.

"Ha." I stick my tongue out at him.

"You didn't." He gasps.

"But I did." I giggle.

Niall grabs a cupcake and says, "You better run." I immediately start running, knowing what he's going to do. After about thirty seconds of running he catches up to me, wrapping his arm around my waist from behind me. Which makes both of us fall to the ground, me underneath Niall.

"Hi." I smile.

"Got ya." Niall smiles, smearing frosting on my cheek.

AN: I know it's not that long. I put this on hold for a reason. I don't have much inspiration for this book, which I'm trying to find some. But I hope you guys like this chapter!

Dedicated to @aquarliam for being sweet and commenting on the last chapter! You should go check out her stories! They're amazing! My favorite one is Just Friends!

What do you guys think of the date so far? I'm not good at writing cheesy date- actually dates in general, 'cause I've got no experience and I like drama better.

If you comment or vote I just might dedicate the next chapter to you! ;)
