Lillian's POV
After we finish fooling around with our food Niall tells me that he wants to show me something. "Where are you taking me now, Niall? It better not be another surprise!" I yell as Niall drags me to what he wants to show me.
"You should now that I'm not going to tell you. " Niall smiles at me.
"Will you slow down!" I huff, not caring for running like a lunatic in front of people.
"We have to make it in time!" He says, over-exaggerating quite a bit.
After running for around ten minutes Niall starts walking. "Are we there yet?" I ask, wishing we'd get to what Niall wants to show me.
"Almost." He answers. A couple of seconds later he says, "Now we're here." He looks at me expectantly, waiting for me reaction.
"Oh my god. It's gorgeous!" I exclaim, stunned by the beautiful sight. The sun is setting on the water -not sure which we're at- and it's amazing. There's orange, light blue, purple and pink in the sky, shadowing the city. And you can see the reflection of everything on the water.
"This is the reservoir here. Whenever I'm in the city I like to visit here to get away from all of the noise." He tells me.
"The view is absolutely breathtaking." I sigh happily, not knowing what else to say. Niall puts his arm around my shoulders and we just stand there, enjoying watching the sun set.
Once the sun fully sets Niall speaks up, saying, "You know, you're the first person I've ever taken here."
"Really?" I question, shocked even of the possibility of me being the first person he's taken here.
"Yeah, I've never had anyone that I wanted to share this with until you came along." He smiles at me, his smile more breathtaking than the sunset we had just watched.
"I-I don't know what to say. Wow." I say, utterly speechless.
"This can be our place now." He says, making me smile. Our place; that has a nice ring to it.
"That sounds nice." I agree with him.
"We can come here whenever things get too stressful and we need a break, or when we just want to be alone." He tells me, making me happy that he's planning his future with me in it.
"Or if we want to feed the ducks." I add, making Niall laugh.
"I say the meaningful things we could do and you say we can feed the ducks." He chuckles, shaking his head.
"Well, what you said sounds nice too." I giggle.
"I should probably take you back home before it gets too cold." Niall says after a few minutes of silence, putting his arm back at his side and turns us around.
"It's summer, Ni. It won't get that cold." I say, my turn to laugh at him.
"You never know. And besides, I'd hate for you to end up sick because I didn't take you home soon enough." He informs me.
"Fine, fine." I give in. The both of us walk back to Niall's car and get in -Niall opening and closing my door for me. On the drive we talk about random things, like the mime that we saw at the park that wouldn't leave this one lady alone. The car ride was filled with a lot of laughs.
When we arrive at my house Niall quickly gets out so he can open my door. "Such a gentleman." I smile at him.
"I hope you had a good time tonight. I know I did." He says as he walks me to the gate.
"I had an amazing time, Niall." I tell him.
"Well, I'll see you later." He scratches the back of his neck, looking like he doesn't know what he should do next.
"Good night, Niall." I say, then kiss his cheek.
His face turns bright red, smiling like an idiot, as he mutters a 'good night' before walking away. I turn to the gate, a smile breaking out on my face. When I get upstairs I fall on to my bed. I just lay there replaying the entire night in my head.
Before I fall asleep I think to myself, 'I wish I had someone to share this with'.

I wake up and realize that I'm in my old bedroom, the one at my parents house. The house phone is ringing so I answer it. "Hello?" I groan, wondering why someone would call at such an early hour in the morning.
"Is this the Hawthorne residence?" The person asks.
"Um, yeah." I answer, unsure if I should've or not.
"And is this Trace or Lillian Hawthorne?" The person asks another question.
"This is Lillian. Now, why are you calling at this time?" I question, getting very annoyed by all of the questions.
It's silent for a moment before the person speaks again. "I'm calling from St. Joseph's hospital in Syracuse to inform the family of Mr. and Mrs. Hawthorne that they were admitted into the emergency department an hour ago and are in critical condition."
"What?! I'm on my way!" I rush, hanging up and getting my brother.
When we arrive at the emergency department of the hospital we run to the front desk. "We're here to see the Hawthorne's!" Trace tells them, trying to catch his breath.
"Are you family? Because only family is allowed to see them." The lady at the front desk asks.
"We're their children. You need to let us see them!" I say, starting to panic.
"Calm down. Just sign in here and I'll have someone show you to their room." The lady says, handing us a clipboard with a sign in sheet. Trace snatches the clipboard and signs both of us in and someone leads us to our parents room. I almost scream when we step into their room, instead, it start crying.
"Mom! Dad!" I gasp. My parents are hooked up to so many machines and it looks like the machines are the only thing keeping them alive. Trace hugs me, letting me cry into his chest.
"It'll be okay." Trace whispers. Only minutes later, the heart monitors start beeping like crazy. Nurses and doctors run in, trying to get my parents heartbeat back at a normal rate. They do everything, but nothing works. Then the beeping stops and it's just one long beep.
In that moment my entire world turns upside down. I'm screaming as the doctors write down their time of death, only seconds apart. I can barely see Trace run out of the room, but it makes me cry even harder when he does. Soon everything goes black.

AN: Sooo. The rest of the date is pretty cute, right? I put a picture of what the view of the reservoir looked like. I hope to go there one day. I've seen the park on tv, online and I'm pretty sure I saw it from a plane, but I've never been to it. What do you guys think about the last part? Do you think it was just a dream or was it a memory? You'll find out the answer in the next couple of chapters!
Do you see that I took this off of hold? It's just on slow updates now. I hope you guys enjoy this chapter!!
