Lillian's POV

Forty minutes later and I'm completely ready for the event. "Are you ready to go, Lily?" Niall asks me, dressed in a nice suit with his hair styled amazingly.

"Yeah, just let me slip on my heels." I say, grabbing my heels so I can put them on. I get the right one on easily, but I loose my balance when I go to put the left heel on.

"Careful, Lily." Niall says as he helps me gain my balance back.

"Uh, thanks." I smile awkwardly. Way to go, Lillian. You can't even put on your shoe without making a fool of yourself. I'm definitely not going to survive this event.

"No problem." Niall smiles back at me. "Let's head out now before we end up being late."

Fifteen minutes pass quickly, and we're halfway through the drive to our destination. I only know that because the driver told us so.

"Can you tell me about this event we're going to? I don't want to show up and be completely clueless." I question, trying to avoid making a fool of myself at the event.

"There really isn't much to this event. There's a few people preforming, a speech here and there, and a lot of drinks." Niall informs me, making the event sound really boring.

"Well, is it a charity event, or a ball, or what?" I ask, wanting to know more.

"If I told you, you'd probably jump out of the limo." He warns me, making me worry slightly.

"I'm not that stupid." I scoff.

"You'd be that scared." He tells me.

"You can tell me, Ni. I won't jump out of the freaking limo." I roll my eyes at the last sentence. Why would I jump out of the car? Seriously.

Niall takes a deep breath and says, "It's an award show."

"Oh, that's not tha-wait, what?" I say realizing what he said. "Did you just say that it's an award show? I must've heard you wrong."

"You heard me correctly. It's an award show." He says sheepishly, looking like he's waiting for me to blow up.

"Why didn't you tell me earlier?" I question, coming off harsher than what I intended.

"You wouldn't have come if you knew." He pouts. "I really wanted you to come with me."

"What about me, Niall? I'm not prepared to go on the red carpet by myself, nonetheless go on the red carpet with One Direction as Niall Horan's date!" I panic.

"It'll be fine, Lillian. Just smile at the camera's and don't say a word." He advises me.

"I'm so going to kill you if I make a fool of myself." I growl, crossing my arms and leaning into the seat I'm in.

And before Niall can say anything the limo stops and the driver speaks to us, saying, "We're here." I look to Niall wide-eyed, not ready to leave the safety and comfort of the limo.

"Hey, you're going to be alright. Louis, Liam, Zayn, Harry and their guests are right in front of us, so you won't be alone or surrounded by strangers." Niall says, trying to calm me down.

"O-okay." I stutter. Niall then opens the door and steps out, holding his hand out for me when he's fully out of the limo. I take a deep breath then grab onto his hand and get out of the limo.

Lights are flashing everywhere, making it hard to see. I look at the ground and see the red carpet, something I've always dreamed of walking on. I turn to my head to my right so I can take a peak at Niall, only to find Niall looking at me. He gives me a large smile, giving me the confidence to start walking. As I walk down the carpet I remember to smile, and I do everything Niall tells me to do. When he tells me to stop and pose for a group of cameramen, I do exactly that. When he tells me to just keep walking and ignore the questions, I follow his instructions and walk with a smile on my face. The whole process takes about half an hour, and Niall was by my side the entire time. Which I was very thankful for.
