Chapter 18: Mama

It's like ever since I found out I was pregnant I've been sick non stop. Most of the time it's hard to eat and I find myself getting up during the middle of my classes because I get so nauseous. My doctor says that by the time I'm three months the morning sickness should stop, I'll be glad when it does. My mama says I'm having a girl because when she was pregnant with me she was sick all time and with Cory she hardly ever got sick. Whatever I'm having isn't playing any games with me.

I sat outside of campus inhaling the thick, humid air. All my classes are over for the day and I'm waiting on Sunny to pick me up. She dropped me off this morning because I was too lazy to drive myself. As I sat on the bench I observed all the students walking back and forth. Pretty soon I'm going to be waddling around the university, lord I can just imagine it now.

While I visualized being full term in college, Sunny called my phone. I stood up from my seat and headed over to the parking lot. She had her music blasting as I approached her. Entering the car, I released my heavy bookbag and let out a deep breath.

"How was school, baby mama?" She asked, turning down the radio.

"Long and boring." I was truthful.

"Have you gotten sick today? And what did you eat?"

"Nope, thank God. And I ate some Popeyes."

"That's good! You be scaring me when you don't be eating."

"It's not like I don't want to eat."

"Yeah, I know. Since it's so hot out, let's go get smoothies. My treat."

"Yay. That sounds super good." I got hella happy.

During the ride, Ant and I were texting back and forth. He's in St. Louis for today and then he'll be in Nashville. After that he'll be back in Houston to finish up his album.

Antonio: Aren't those baby shoes cute? I should buy them for the baby. (1:34 pm)

Taylor: Lol yeah they're cute. But what if it's not a boy... (1:34 pm)

Antonio: I would let my daughter wear these. And we in the mall and everybody I'm with looking at me crazy because they don't know you pregnant yet. 😂 (1:35 pm)

Taylor: They think you just looking at baby shoes for no reason 😂😂😂  and wait to start buying stuff. You starting before me lol (1:37 pm)

Antonio: I think they think it's for my little brother. But they still asked me why I was smiling at all the baby gear. And too late, I already bought them. (1:39 pm)

Antonio: Maybe I shouldn't have bought them. They might be out of style once the baby is born... 🤷🏽‍♂️ (1:40 pm)

Taylor: Yo excited ass 😩😂😂 (1:42 pm)

Antonio: Mane I really am excited as hell lmao. I can't help it. 😩 when I'm not around I need pictures of yo stomach everyday. 😊 (1:45 pm)

Taylor: Between you and my mama.. I'm a just make a group message for the both of y'all. (1:46 pm)

Antonio: I'm completely fine with that 😂😂 but if you still woke, I'm a hit you later tonight. (1:47 pm)

Sunny parked her car at the smoothie spot and we got out. When we walked in I looked at the menu as if I wasn't going to order the same thing that I order every time. I ordered a pineapple smoothie with banana slices and granola.

"You want me to cook for you tonight? You look so tired, Tay." We sat down to wait for our smoothies.

"You been treating me like I'm handicapped. I love it though."
