Brianna was on her way to pick me up for the tryouts.
Meanwhile, I'm freaking out because I'm about to humiliate myself in front of a bunch of people.
I'm already the new girl, the last thing I need is the new girl who embarrassed herself, trying to play volleyball.
I tried convincing her not to make me go, but I miserably failed at that.
So I threw on some shorts, a short sleeved tee, and grabbed some tennis shoes, as I waited for her to pick me up.

"Okay, great job today girls!" The coach yelled with inconsistent claps, "Break it down, then take down the net. I'll send out an email, letting you all know if you made it or not."
We all gathered in a huddle and yelled in unison, "Highlanders on 3. 1...2..3.. Highlanders!"
We all wobbled over to the net. Part by part, we took it down and carried it over and put it inside of the locker room closet.
"Told you I suck." I sighed, as everyone cleared out of the lock room.
"Uh no.. You did amazing.. 'Not athletic' my-"
"-I'm not... athletic.."
"You've got raw talent, you just need to keep working at it, and eventually.. you'll be one of the best players we have."
"Doubtful.. but thanks." I gave her a small smile.
"C'mon," she said, standing up off of the bench, "Let's get going.."
We walked out of the locker room.
The coach, her aunt, was shuffling through papers, while she was sitting on the bottom row of the bleachers.
She looked up at us, as we swung the locker room door open and it creaked, "Hey girls. Wonderful job today."
We walked over to her.
"Thanks Aunt B." Brianna looked over at me, then back at the coach with wide eyes, "Sorry... coach."
Coach Grey laughed in response.
"Addison right?" She asked.
"No, it's Allison.." I smiled.
"Oh sorry, I'm terrible with names.. Good thing I put numbers on you all," she sighed, "Allison.." she corrected herself, "You did amazing.. Are you sure you've never played before?"
I nodded my head, "Yep.. One hundred percent positive that I've never played.. ever."
She studied me for a while then said, "I'm not supposed to have a final decision, on who made the team, this early.. Because 'it's not fair to the other girls', But.. welcome to West Morris High, Highlander's volleyball team." She replied, adding a grin.
I looked at her confused and then at Brianna, she was smirking at me.
"Told you, you were good.."
I rolled my eyes at her and laughed.
"See you girls at practice next week." She told us, as she looked back down at her papers.
