Book 2, Chapter 3: Behind the Camera
"That was.. um.." he cleared his throat.
"Right.."
We both stared at each other, in utter awkwardness. And trust me when I say awkward, because I mean A W K W A R D! Oh and not only was it awkward, IT WAS DEAD SILENT.
Now I will admit, even though I don't want to... That was the best kiss I have ever-
Wait, sorry he said something.. I have to stop thinking about it now. And great, I'm not sure what he said..
"Sorry, what was that?" I asked.
"We should get back to the script.."
"Oh.. Right.." I nervously smiled.
I grabbed the packet, and he did the same.
But just then my phone rang. Talk about saved by the bell... Or saved by the ring, I guess in this case.
I picked my phone up and said, "It's my mom."
He waved his hand, telling me to answer it.
"Hi mom." I said, as I put the phone to my ear.
"Hi honey! Just wanted to see how things were going.." I heard her sly giggle, and from that, I knew exactly why she was calling.
I mouthed 'I'll be right back' to Grayson.
I stood up and walked to my room.
"You could've gave me a warning about inviting him."
"Oh please! Like you would've let me invite him, if I had told you." She paused for a second and continued, "I had to do what I thought was best for my daughter!"
"Sure you did." I rolled my eyes, even though she couldn't see me.
"So tell me! How'd everything go?"
"With Grayson?"
"Of course! Why else would I ask that?"
"I don't know.." I sighed, "But I'm not telling you anything!"
"Fine! Fine! Keep your poor old mother left out of the loop."
I laughed, "Did you know about the audition?"
"Yes. And I think the movie would be the perfect opportunity for you."
"Mom it's not a movie, it's for a tv show."
"That's not what Grayson told me when he called!"
"You must've heard wrong." I replied, "Or he might've meant to say tv show."
"I suppose so," she paused, "but I still think it would good for you."
"Why? I have no interest in being famous or acting."
"I know that dear, but you should at least try it out. If you don't get the part, then you'll know that wasn't your calling. And if you do, then you can see how things go from there. I'm sure you'll end up liking it."
