Book 2, Chapter 6: Behind the Camera

"I have one more thing I want to show you before we head back to the hospital.." Grayson smiled, as he gently placed his hand in mine.

He lead me out of the studio, and back out to his car.

As soon as we were both inside, he immediately started the car and drove off.

The entire car ride, I faced the window because I was trying to hide the smile that wouldn't leave my face.—... It's really weird to think that we had been broken up for quite some time and hadn't been together for that long, but when he asked me.. It felt right. So don't judge me for being overly happy about it!— As I continued staring out the window, I recognized the place he had driven us to...

It was the abandoned building where we had our date... but something about it was different.

It had a new paint job along with a sign that said: "Dolan Twin Warehouse".

"No way!" I gasped.

"Yes way!" He chuckled as he got out of the car.

"You turned that old building into this?" I questioned, as I hopped out.

"Yeah.. I thought that it was special and I knew it could be something amazing, I just didn't know what at the time." He said as he stared at the entrance.

"It's incredible." I smiled, "You and E did a great job."

Honestly... the building really did look amazing, but what I was really fangirling about, was the fact that I was at the one, the only... DOLAN TWIN WAREHOUSE.

"Thanks, but it was mostly Cam that thought everything up."

"Oh.. No wonder it looks amazing.." I laughed.

"Yeah yeah.." he playfully rolled his eyes.

"As much as I enjoy looking at Cameron's work, we should probably get going... We should be there for E and Bri."

"You're right." he sighed.

We both climbed back into the car.

GRAYSON'S P.O.V.

I started the car and pulled out of the warehouse parking lot.

I stopped at another random red light. It felt like we had been sitting there for 20 minutes already..

Finally it turned green and I eased on to the gas.

I heard Allison gasp, so I turned to look at her.

She was staring out of the window, I shifted my eyes from her to the window..

There was a car speeding straight towards us.

"Grayson!" She screamed.

Allison whipped her head around to face me..

She was screaming something, but it was muffled, I couldn't hear a thing she was saying... It was as if everything was in slow motion.

It felt like I lost complete control of my body, I couldn't move.

Then the car slammed into the side of us.

I felt our car jerk sideways, it flipped to the left.

The roof of our car, slammed onto the road, then it flipped once more.

I could hear tires screeching and sirens heading for us. I was terrified, but the worst part about it was that I could no longer see Allison. It was like she had vanished into thin air. everything was starting to fade away

•••

I woke up with Ethan and Bri hovering over me.

"Ethan!" Brianna yelled, "He's awake!"

"Shh," Ethan whispered, "Remember they told us to talk quietly."

I looked around, trying to figure out where I was.. Nothing about this place looked familiar to me.

I looked down at my arms, they had IV's sticking out of each arm. I soon realized I was in a hospital, and I started to remember everything that had happened.. Why I was was here.

"Where's Allison?" I asked them.

Brianna turned her head away and Ethan put his hand her waist. He whispered something into her ear, she nodded, and they both turned back to face me.

"Where!" I demanded.

Brianna walked out of the room with her hands covering her eyes. Ethan sighed as he watched her walk out of the room.

"She's gone, Grayson.." Ethan finally said, "She's gone.."

"What do you mean she's 'gone'?"

He shrugged his shoulders, and looked over at a wall.

"Ethan?" I asked, as I tried to sit up in my bed, but miserably failed to do because I was so weak.

He looked but at me, he had tears streaming down his face.

"No one can find her Gray."

"I don't understand.." I mumbled.

"The police.. They've searched everywhere for her. She's gone."

"That's not possible.." I began to heavily pant, "She was in the car with me, did they check the car? That's where she was.. You've got to get them to check the car, Ethan!"

"Grayson..." he looked down at his feet, "There isn't a car to check.."

"What do you mean?" I asked confused.

"Do you not remember what happened?" He asked concerned.

"Yes, Allison and I got hit and the car flipped over."

Ethan shook his head, "That's not all that happened... When the police and the fireman got to you all, you were the only one in the car. Luckily they got you out just in time, because the car exploded moments after.."

"So where's Allison?"

"Grayson, we don't know.. Are you sure she was in the car with you?"

"What? Of course I'm sure. She was there with me." I sighed, "How long have I been here?"

"About a month and a half.." Ethan replied.

I didn't want to talk about this anymore, so I decided to change the subject, "How are the triplets?"

Ethan tried to force a smile, "They're good.. They're with mom and dad now."

"Are they here?" I asked.

"No, they're back at the house.. I don't think they could sit here and watch you and not be able to do something about it.. I'll call them in a minute and let them know you're awake."

"Ok," I nodded, "Thanks for being here, Eth."

"I would never not be here for you." He smiled, and walked out of the room.

A doctor walked in soon after him.

He did his annual "check-up", and walked out of the room.

I couldn't stop thinking about Allison.

It didn't make any sense... How can someone just disappear out of the car? I know I'm not crazy... She was there with me.. I saw her, but she's gone.. I have to find her.
