Chapter 33

"What?" I asked Bri, as I turned around to face the stranger.

Well.. Two strangers.

"My ex boyfriend and his jerk of a best friend." She said stern.

I looked back at her, her arms were crossed and she was squinting her eyes.

"We have names you know.." the other voice said, he was British, "I'm Dean.." he smiled, "And this is Axel.."

"Nice to meet you.." I replied.

"No it's not nice," Brianna hissed, "What do you want Axel?"

"Can't we just talk without me having to want something?" He asked with a condescending smirk.

"You always want something, Axel.. What is it this time?" She semi-shouted.

"Woah.." Axel shook his hands, "No need to shout, doll face.."

"Let's give them a minute, love." Dean said, looking at me.

"No, she doesn't have to go anywhere.. In fact we're leaving." Brianna stood up as she scooted her chair back.

"No listen baby.." Axel walked closer to her, "I just want to talk.. That's all."

"Don't call me baby!"

He inched even closer.

"Have you been drinking, Axel?"

"No of course not."

"I can smell your breath, you idiot. Get away from me!"

Axel stepped back.

Dean tapped me on the shoulder and jerked his head back, motioning for me to follow him.

I shouldn't have, but I did.

We walked outside and Dean leaned against his car.

He pulled out a pack of cigarettes and lit one.

"Seriously? You smoke?" I rolled my eyes.

He looked at me and sighed.

He bent down and put it out.

"Better?"

I nodded.

"So what's with them?" I asked, " I mean.. What happened between them?"

Dean laughed, "Axel's what you consider to be.. Well not a good guy.."

He patted a spot beside him.

I walked over to him and leaned against his car.

"What did he do to Bri?"

He laughed again, "More like what did she do to him.."

I looked at him confused.

He licked his lips and sighed, "She changed him.. For a while, that is.."

"By change you mean?"

"Made him a better guy.. He was always hanging 'round with the wrong crowds..." he paused, "After they started dating, he quit going around there.. he was arse over elbows for her.. Then one night they got into a fight. She came back to his place to apologize, for not even starting the argument she was the one to go and make up.. and Brianna caught him cheating on her. She was brassed off, so she called things off between them. He tried to get her to give him another go, but she wouldn't listen. He tried everything. I mean he was daft for even cheating to begin with.." he scoffed, "Then, he went back to his ol' bloody ways after that and he's been bonkers ever since."

"Wow.."

"Yeah, he's my mate, but he's driving me mad!"

I stared at him, half the words he said made no sense to me, but I didn't question it.

"You're fit." He said, breaking the silence.

"Excuse me?" I asked.

I looked over at him, he was scanning his eyes up and down my body.

"You are hot." He laughed.

I didn't answer him instead I looked away.

He muttered something, so I rolled my eyes, even though I was still looking away from him.

We sat in silence the rest of the time, until about 5 minutes had passed, Brianna came running out of the restaurant.

"Axel! Leave me alone. You should have thought about that when you cheated!"

Brianna turned and looked at me, "Let's go Al."

I nodded without saying anything to Dean.

We both walked over to my car and hopped in.

I quickly started the car and drove off.

"I'm sorry you had to meet them.." Brianna said shyly.

"Why?"

"Because Axel is a psycho.. And Dean is an arrogant self involved-"

"-It's okay. Really." I replied as I stopped the car at a red light.

"It's not okay.." she said weakly.

I looked over at her, tears were falling from her eyes.

"Bri? What did he say to you?"

"Nothing really.. It's just seeing him, brought up bad memories.. I finally had him out of my mind then he pops up, like nothing ever happened."

"Hey you'll be okay. Let's go get some ice cream and we can watch movies all night."

"Okay.." she sobbed.

I eased onto the gas, as the light switched to green.

I turned into a near-by store.

I told Bri to wait in the car, and I would get the ice cream.

I bought about 6 different ice cream flavors, a bunch of candy, and a magazine I saw of Ethan and Grayson at the check out counter.

After purchasing the stuff, I walked back outside to the car and drove home.

I popped us some popcorn, while Bri picked a movie.

I had put some pillows and blankets down in the floor so we could lay down.

I also grabbed two spoons for the ice cream.

Then after the popcorn was finished, I walked back into the living room and laid down beside of her.

She smiled at me, "Thank you for this."

"It's not problem." I smiled back, "So what movie did you pick?"

She scrolled though on Netflix and stopped at one of my favorite movies, "How about clueless?"

I nodded and she clicked play.

We watched as we shoved all the junk food into our bodies.

We had watched about 4 movies then we fell asleep.

My mom never came back home while we were watching the movies.. I don't even want to imagine why..
