Chapter 13: Valentine's Day

A/N: Sorry this chapter's kind of short. Also, towards the end, I had to use my mom's laptop. Her laptop is super slow, and the spacebar and a few other keys don't work very well. I tried to fix it, but I'm sorry if I missed any mistakes. 

Hermione's POV

Our vacation went by super quick, and soon we were back at school. Time was going by so fast, and our N.E.W.T's were coming up. I spent most of my time studying, and I didn't get to hang out with Draco a lot. I was just sitting in the common room finishing up some homework when Draco came and sat down next to me. "We've been back almost two weeks now and we haven't hung out one bit since we got back. I want to go on a date with my fiance." He said as he pouted. I finished up my last sentence, and looked at him.

"I guess you're right. I'm just so nervous about the N.E.W.T.s, I really want to pass."

"Hermione, even if you don't study, you'll do brilliantly. You always know the answer to everything in class, and you always study. Come on, can't you put down the books for a night?"

"Fine, when we get back from dinner, I'm all yours." He smiled and gave me a quick peck on the cheek. We went to dinner like normal, but after dinner, he brought me to the Room of Requirement. There was a beautiful view of outside. I turned around, and a candle-lit table appeared. He pulled out my chair and I sat down. We talked a lot and had a lovely evening.

Draco's POV

Time was passing. February already here, and Valentine's day was tomorrow. I had a plan for Valentine's day.

A/N: I'm doing another time lapse, so it's Valentine's day now, and it's a Saturday, so they don't have classes. Sorry about all the time changes and everything.

I woke up, about to get ready, when I saw a box of chocolates on my bedside table. A little note on the box said.

I decided that one candy wouldn't hurt, so I ate one and I felt different. I stopped thinking about Hermione. A certain Slytherin, female was running through my mind instead. I didn't know what it was, but I had the sudden urge to go snog Astoria Greengrass senseless. I hurried and got dressed. I rushed out the door, passing by Hermione on my way out. I went into the Slytherin common room and saw her sitting by the fire. I rushed over to her and kissed her, she returned the kiss with even more enthusiasm than I had.

Astoria's POV

Everything was set. I knew Draco would be mine by the end of the day. That mudblood will finally get what's coming to her. I worked my way from the head's dorm to the Slytherin common room and waited. I waited for Draco Malfoy to come to me. Finally I heard the door crash open. I looked up and a smirk crawled on my face. He ran over to me and kissed me. Finally, I get what I deserve!

Hermione's POV

I was wondering what was going on, when I saw Draco run by me and out the door. He didn't even stop to say anything. I decided to follow him to see what was wrong. He was in a hurry to be somewhere, and I had to find out where. I kept following him, all the way down to the Slytherin common room. He went in, and I snuck in behind him. My heart shattered when I saw him. He was snogging Astoria. I was so heart broken. I bolted out of the room and went back to my room. I locked the door the muggle way, because I was just too distraught to think. I crawled back into bed and sobbed myself to sleep. I can't believe I agreed to marrying him! Why did I ever think that he could change? Was my last thought before I drifted off into darkness.

Draco's POV

While kissing Astoria, I heard the door slam shut, but I ignored it. After a few minutes, we were still snogging, but I felt weird. Like I shouldn't be doing this. I wondered what it could be, and Hermione raced through my mind. It was like I broke out of a trance. What am I doing? I pushed Astoria away and ran back to my dorm. Was that person that ran out of the room Hermione? I went back into the room, and she wasn't where I saw her when I left. I heard sobbing, and it was coming from Hermione's room.I ran to the door and used Alohamora.I saw her crying in her sleep. This was all because of me. I had to fix this, so I woke her up.

"Hermione! Please, I have to explain!" I yelled as she ran out of the room.

"What is there to explain?" She yelled back. "You were cheating on me. I can't believe I agreed to marry you!" She took of her ring and threw it at me. She started crying more. "Can I just ask you one question?" I just nodded. "Why? Just, why?"

"I don't know! I just woke up this morning, ate some of the chocolate you gave me, then I went and kissed her! I have no idea why I did that! I don't even like her!"

"Wait. I didn't give you any chocolate, yet. I got some chocolate in my room. I was going to give it to you later."

"But, I got some chocolate in my room and the note says that it's from you."

"Oh! Now, I get it! She must've given you a love potion! That's the only explanation. Maybe she forged the letter too!" I could see it in her eyes, everything was all coming together.

"Hermione! Just know, that I would never cheat on you,intentionally." I said and I picked up he ring she threw at me. "I'm so sorry. Do you forgive me?"

"I'm the one who should be sorry. I completely overreacted!" She ran over to me and hugged me.

"You didn't overreact. I would've done the same thing. I forgive you anyway."I pulled away from the hug. "Do you want this back?" I said pointing to the ring. She giggled.

"Yeah, sorry." I put the ring back on her finger.

"Now, let's go have a great Valentine's day. I held her hand and brought her to our table. I made her a breakfast instead of going to the Great Hall. We had a very fun day together.It was almost time for dinner, and it was getting dark out.

"Hermione, come on. I have a surprise for you." I took her hand and brought her outside I snuck her out to Hogsmeade. In a little open field by the Shrieking shack, I put a picnic blanket down and sat with her. We watched the sun set and the stars come out while we ate. We talked a lot too, and it was perfect. I got her back before anyone noticed we were gone.
