Draco Malfoy: A Hogwarts Professor

Chapter 6: In Trouble

Hermione's POV

The next morning, I woke up to an owl tapping on my door, not the window. That's strange. I went over to it and pulled a little letter out of it's beak. It flew away as I read the letter.

Miss Granger,

I have received information that Professor Malfoy and yourself were found sneaking out to Hogsmeade past curfew last night. I will need to see the both of you in my office as soon as possible.

I ran out of my room and pounded my fists on Draco's door. "Oi! What do you want? I'm trying to sleep!" He said as he came out of his room. He saw the tears in my eyes, and his expression changed. "What's wrong?"

"Professor Mcgonagall saw us last night. She wants us to go to her office when we get ready." I was about to cry, and he started laughing.

"That's what you're so worked up about? Come on. Haven't you ever gotten in trouble before?"

"Well, not for anything like this."

"It's not that bad. It'll be fine."

"You could lose your job."

"Oh. I didn't think of that."

"What're we going to do?"

"I don't know."

"Well, let's hurry up and get ready." I walked to the bathroom to brush my teeth and hair. I put on my clothes and looked in the mirror to make sure I was totally ready. I was so scared.

"Hermione, Are you almost done in there? I need to get ready, too!" He yelled through the door. I hurried up and left so he could use the bathroom. I waited in the common room for him to finish getting ready, so we could go to Mcgonagall's office. He walked back out of the bathroom looking as perfect as always. Did I really just think that? Hermione, just stop! It's Malfoy!

"You ready?" I asked walking up to him.

"Yup," He took my hand and pulled me along with him. We were just walking in the corridors, when other students were giving us strange looks, I was confused at first, but then I realized that we were still holding hands.

"Draco, people are staring."

"At what?"

"Our hands."

"Oh." He looked down at them. He gave my hand a reassuring squeeze, then let go. We walked the rest of the way in silence, until we got to the office door, where we had to state the password. Draco mumbled it under his breath and then we walked up the stairs. It felt like the stairs were moving slower than normal. I couldn't wait to get this over with. I was so scared. I knocked on her office door, and heard her voice, "Come in." We both walked in and she motioned for us to sit down.

"Now, I sent a letter, so you two know why you are here. Is it true?"

"Yes, but it was my fault! I told Dra- Professor Malfoy to come with me,"

"Hermi-" He started to say, but I cut him off.

"No." I couldn't let him lose his job. "I snuck out of Hogwarts. He didn't have anything to do with it, so don't get mad at him!" She looked disappointed.

"Well, if it is true what you say, I'm very disappointed in you Miss Granger. I am taking 20 points from Gryffindor. And since you two are so keen on being together, you will have detention with Professor Malfoy every night this week." She paused for a minute, "You two may go." We walked silently out of the room, until the door shut.

"You didn't have to do that." Draco said as we walked down the stairs.

"Yes, I did. The punishment for you would've been much worse."

"Thank you."

"There's no need to thank me. Afterall, it is true. It was my idea to go to Hogsmeade. I'm so glad that it wasn't worse."

"Yeah. Well, come on. Let's go to breakfast." He said as he took my hand.

Mysterious POV

My stomach churned as I watched them walk together. I can't believe they got off the hook so easily. Draco should've been mine. I deserved him, not that mudblood Granger. I need her to pay. With my loss of appetite, I walked back to the Slytherin common room. Time to think of another plan.
