With a sudden jolt, Sam and Dean were snapped back to reality. They still stood in the dark and wet alley in Kansas city. Cass stepped back as Kate approached them.
Dean felt the tears in his eyes, he looked over at Sam who wore a sad blank expression. They stared at the girl standing before them.
Dean carefully examined her, inspecting every aspect of her appearance. She had their mother's green eyes. They were unmistakable.
"Kate?" Dean choked out.
Kate smiled. Her brothers remembered her. A tear slipped from her eyes as she looked back and forth between her brothers
"It's me guys. I'm here." she spoke softly.
Dean couldn't contain himself anymore, tears slipped from his eyes. He wrapped his arms around his sister in a hug. It wasn't long before Sam joined in and all three Winchesters were finally together.
Dean ran his hand through Kate's long hair as if making sure she was real. She was real, she was really here. Dean held his sister tight, he never wanted to let go of her. Both Sam and Dean could feel her sniffs and sobs buried deep with in the hug.
"I've missed you guys so much." She croaked.
Sam couldn't help but smile. He was more than grateful to have his big sister back.Tears stung in his eyes, until they finally fell down his cheeks into Kate's long hair. "We've missed you too Sissy." He said.
Kate half laughed at the nickname. Sissy had been her nickname from the brothers for as long as they could remember. She had always hated the nickname, but it stuck with her over the years and she learned to accept it.
"Guys?" Kate asked trying to get their attention, her voice was muffled.
"What's up Sissy?" Dean asked, he was trying to lighten the mood by not sounding like he was crying.
"I can't breathe."
Sam and Dean quickly released their not so big sister from the suffocating hug. Kate gasped for air, taking a few steps back.
"I'm already dead guys, you don't have to kill me again." She said jokingly. Dean smiled at her joke.
"It's good to have you back Sissy. Except..." Dean walked over to Kate. He put his hand on top of his head and hovered it over Kate's head. "I don't seem to recall you being so short."
"Mock all you want Dean, at least I still have my good looks."
"What does that mean" Dean asked, looking offended.
"It means you're old." Kate fired.
"Okay guys," Sam interrupted. He grinned and walked over to Kate and Dean. He stood between the two of them to prove that he had the superior height.Kate and Dean both looked sheepishly at the ground.
"Yeah well we're oldest." Kate said confidently.
Sam smiled, he missed his sister's can do attitude. She always seemed to find a silver lining to the situation.
"While this is all... touching." Cass interrupted. "We should probably get out of the abandoned alley."
Cass had a point.
"Way ahead of you Cass." Dean answered. He pulled the car keys out of his pocket and dangled them on his fingers for all to see. Kate snatched the keys out of his finger tips and ran down the alley toward the street.
"I'm driving!" She yelled back at them.
Dean ran down the alley after his sister yelling things like "No you're not!" and "Kate, get back here!" Sam chuckled at his older siblings. Cass just stared at him.
"You realize that whoever doesn't get to drive will sit in the front seat." Cass stated.
Sam's smile faded as he came to the realization. With that, he took off after them not wanting to be the one to sit in the back.
"Come on boys!" Kate yelled back mockingly. "You're losing!"
Both Sam and Dean smiled. They couldn't be happier chasing after their sister, just like old times.
