Did anyone watch Legacies? I need people to talk to about it. I also already know that if I ever get that far in writing, I'm going to make a book about it.

I was drawing when my pencils blew off the table. I groaned and set my sketchbook onto the table before bending down to pick them up. A shot rang out as I grabbed the pencils. I looked up and saw a man just blatantly shooting a gun. However, it didn't take but a second for someone to stop him. I glanced behind me and saw the bullet hole in the wall right where my head had been. I gulped and stood up in surprise. Someone asked, "Are you ok?"

The voice was familiar and I turned to see Zach. I nodded, "Yeah, I'm fine."

Zach nodded and looked at the bullet in the wall. He stated, "You're not from here."

I shook my head and confirmed, "California."

Zach questioned, "What are you doing in New Orleans?"

I used a southern accent and scoffed, "You know? That's the second time this week I've been asked that. I thought y'all were supposed to have southern hospitality."

Zach apologized, "I'm sorry, it was rude of me."

I snorted, "I'm joking. It's fine, although it is the second I have been asked that, but I did just get here yesterday." I rubbed my hands together as I shrugged. "I'm here looking for my mom."

Zach furrowed his brow in confusion, "Really? What makes you so sure she's here?"

I shrugged, "I got a lead that she was here, and I followed it."

Zach asked, "How old are you?"

I answered, "16."

Zach asked, "Your dad just let you leave in the middle of the school year?"

I sighed, "Yeah, well, this has become somewhat normal for me to do." It was true. Anytime I got a lead on my Mom I would leave even if it was during the school year. "My Dad doesn't even worry when I go missing anymore."

Zach asked, "How do you pay to take trips like this?"

I shrugged, "Nice bank account, courtesy of my mom. I think."

Zach questioned, "She was rich?"

I rubbed the back of my neck, "I guess so. I only knew her until I was 4, and then one day she was just...gone." I still remembered the day clearly, but I knew that I could never tell anyone about what happened then. "It's left a void that I wish to fill."

Zach looked behind me and groaned, "I have to leave, again. I'm so sorry. I really should learn to stop running out on you."

I didn't even need to look back to know why Zach had to leave. I assured, "It's fine. I get it, the werewolves come after you if you're in the Quarter."

Zach looked surprised and asked, "You know?"

I nodded and chuckled, "It wasn't that hard to find out. All I did was a little digging into the past of the supernatural in New Orleans."

Zach smiled, "I'll see you later."

I nodded, "Later it is."

He left with his vampire speed and I grinned. I grabbed my stuff and put it in my bag before heading to a restaurant. I sat down and heard someone say, "Vampire just walked in."

I glanced at the man and saw that he was with a group of people I muttered under my breath and his eyes turned yellow, confirming my thoughts. I grinned and turned back to myself. The group walked over to me and the leader informed, "Vampires aren't allowed in the Quarter."
