"I'd rather not go, thanks" Zelda replied to another student trying to convince her to go to some sort of party.
"Come one, Zelda! It'd be so much more fun if you were there" He begged, following her outside of the school grounds.
"It's just not my thing"
"But it's Halloween! Are you just going to sit in your room and do nothing all night?" He asked, really trying to persuade her.
"You know what? I'll... Think about it. No promises though" She replied.
"Please do! It's been too long since you tagged along. If I remember correctly, you're a total lightweight!" Zelda blushed in embarrasment.
"You're just lessening the chances of me going" Zelda teased. "Anyway, see you" She said as she went her own way.
"Don't forget to ask Link as well!" He added on before jogging to his own house.
Zelda rolled her eyes as she continued walking home. It was one week before halloween, so of course she'd been invited to the party. Her friend Midna was a bit of a party animal, and every year she held a huge Halloween party whilst her parents were out of town. Every year she was invited, but she'd only accepted once before, the last year. However, she apparently had a little too much to drink and couldn't remember anything. All she knew is that Link carried her all the way home whilst she was on the verge of passing out. Apparently she'd only had a couple drinks, as well.
It didn't go down well though. Rumours were spread and it wasn't easy for Zelda to go to school when everyone seemed to be talking about things she did whilst drunk, which she couldn't remember in the slightest. It got to the point where she didn't believe it herself, as people were saying things that weren't true. The only person that was witness to it all was Link anyway, and he told her what was true and what false.
He said that she seemed to be having fun though, and that it wasn't a bad time in general. She felt like she was required to go and actually be responsible this time, to see if she really would enjoy herself. She knew that Link would go if she was going anyway.
Once she made it home, she dumped her bag her room and got a few pieces of paper out.
She opened her window, stepped out of it and looked at the nearest tree, before grabbing it with one hand and swinging to the house that was next to hers. She landed cleanly on the windowsill and looked into the room that was opposite to hers. She couldn't see the person she wanted to, so she stood there for a few seconds before he walked in the door. He ran to the window once he saw Zelda and opened it, letting her in.
"It's been awhile since you've done that hasn't it, Zel?" He asked.
"Well hello to you too, Link" She replied.
Link was her best friend, and they'd lived next door to each other ever since they were both born. They went to the same school and could always see each other by swinging on a tree and entering the window of the other's room.
They only had to do that because Zelda's parents didn't get along with Link's and vice versa, so it was only natural that they didn't like the other's child either. That didn't stop Link and Zelda from seeing each other though.
"What's all that?" He asked.
"Your homework. Don't think you can get away with not doing this just because you're ill!" She handed the papers over to him. He was ill, so he weren't at school. But thanks to Zelda, he still had to do all of his homework for the due date.
"Well, aren't you just a lifesaver(!)" He said sarcastically, laughing afterwards.
He was still in his pajamas and had tissue stuffed up one of his nostrils, which made him talk funny. It was the weekend now as today was a Friday, so they had time to procrastinate doing the homework, and eventually doing the homework because they were too nice and good students.
They both heard footsteps on the stairs outside Link's room, so Zelda quickly jumped into the completely clear wardrobe that was in Link's room.
They both really didn't want to be caught by either one's parents as that would just cause unnecessary controversy. Because of this, they both had little places to hide in case they happened to hear any suspicious sounds. After quite a few years, they were never caught.
