Excited

The next day, Link and Zelda could talk again, and continue their progress with the costumes. The party was on Saturday (as that was the day of Halloween) so they had just under a week to get everything done. They were so lucky that their parents were either out or working all the time, so they could see each other without too much worry.

Link couldn't help but be worried about the party though. The year before, Zelda did some pretty weird and out of character things. That was the first and only time Link had seen her drunk, so it was probably the first and only time it had happened anyway. He knew that he had to keep her in sight at all times. He knew that she'd be responsible and not make the same mistake twice, but he felt like he had to watch over her, had to make sure.

What's worse is that Zelda never blended with that crowd anyway. She was always invited to parties, yet she never accepted. She loved Halloween though, so it was somewhat of an exception. She didn't want to be sat doing nothing on the one night a year where everyone can wear anything and it was completely fine. The whole night was like a massive fancy dress festival.

The next day, Link found himself over at Zelda's again, helping out in any way that he could whilst she worked on the tunic. He felt guilty that he couldn't do much though.

"How did you get along with the homeworks?" Link asked. They were in all the same lessons, so they had all the same things to do.

"Oh, I haven't even looked at them" She said, realizing that she'd spent her whole weekend making the costumes.

"I'll do them for you!" Link said enthusiastically. He hated to sit around without helping the process at all.

"You don't have to do that. I'll get it done" Zelda replied.

"No, I insist. It's not too hard and you're working really hard on the costumes" Link said as he grabbed a small pile of paper that was on top of Zelda's desk.

"Well... Thank you" She looked up from what she was doing with the sewing machine to smile at Link and to just look at him in general.

Time inevitably flew, and the two had to part ways to get ready for school the next day. Zelda still had to give Midna the heads up that she was going to be at the party instead of turning up as a surprise.

Zelda had finished the tunic, so all that was left for Link was the hat, which was basic and easy, so they both had their costumes pretty much sorted.

Link managed to get all of Zelda's homework done with ease, Zelda even felt guilty about letting Link do it, but he insisted and weren't going to take no as an answer.

On the Monday morning, Link waited for Zelda outside of her gate. Because they lived literally next to each other, they walked to school together. Once Zelda had come outside and greeted Link, he asked her about Midna.

"Have you told Midna, Beedle and everyone else that we're gonna be there?" He asked.

"Not yet, no. I'm going to today. I'm actually really excited for this, you know" She said, a slight grin finding its way to her lips.

"I am too. Let's hope that you'll be able to remember it this time" Link laughed, clearly poking fun at Zelda.

"Oh, haha, hilarious" Zelda said, trying not to actually laugh.

Once they made it to school, they made their way to form and dealt with a lot of people comment on Link's previous absence.

"Link! Nice to see you're not dead" Someone greeted him with.

"Yeah... Thanks" Link laughed, sitting down at his seat. There were no designated seating plan, but everyone had a seat which they sat in every morning, they had their own little seating plan.

A couple minutes later, Midna arrived. They were luckily in her form, so they could easily tell her without having to chase her about.

"Hey, Midna, you know the party you're throwing on Saturday?" Zelda asked, smiling.

"Yeah? What, are you actually gonna come?" Midna laughed, her eyes wide.

"Yeah, I want to experience it and... Remember it, I guess!" She laughed, poking fun at herself.

"Cool! It'll be nice seeing you. I guess that means you're coming as well, Link?" Midna asked, although she kind of already knew the answer.

"Yeah, believe it or not!" He replied.

"It'll be nice seeing you both out for the first time in a year" Midna smiled.

A few minutes later, the bell went, so everyone had to go to lessons. Thanks to Link, Zelda had all of her homework done for the next week, so she didn't have to worry about that.

Now it was just a matter of waiting.
