(Holy crap you guys like 30 away from 1000 reads thank you all so much you dudes are fantastic! Also: pretend Emma's hair in the title cover ^ is NOT short-it'll be important in future chapters haha you have no control!)

"And you're both sure you're okay with going? Dan asked Dodie and I for the fifth time. At the moment: she and I were touching up our makeup in our room and he was leaning in the doorway, waiting patiently.

"Uh, heck yeah we are!" I answered for the both of us. "It's gonna be a healthy mix of people we do and don't know, and as long as they're all nice, we'll be fine!"

"Yeah cuz isn't Ethan going?" Dodie recalled.

"Yeah but I don't know who he's bringing...I know Amy's bringing Wiishu and her Boston friend Kathryn. I've never met Kathryn, but I've spoken to Wiishu a couple times and I think you'll both like her." Dan explained walking over to play with my hair. "You know this is a casual thing right?"

"Doesn't mean we can't make a good first impression!" Dodie reminded him.

He smiled. "Either of you want your hair done up then?"

"Nah, I'll keep mine down for once." I told him.

"Could you put mine in those French-braid pigtail things?" Dodie requested.

"Yeah sure." Dan replied softly, starting straight away.

"Thanks..." Dodie mused. She wore a pair of simple black slip-on shoes, a cute white girl's T that said 'Love is Love' in bold black letters, and a a black, mid-thigh skirt with Spandex shorts underneath. Adorable, as always. Dressed better than me, as always.

I wore black jeans, a black and white striped T with a little chest pocket, and old- but clean -Converse.

Dan, on the other hand, didn't even change. He wore black jeans, his eclipse T-shirt, and black Converse. Then again he didn't really need cute clothes to be cute, amiright?

Once Dan finished Dodie's hair, and she and I were both satisfied with our touch-ups, (though I will never be satisfied haha Angelica you're funny) the three of us headed out of the house. None of us bothered to tell to tell Alfie where we were headed since he, Zoë, and Marcus were busy working on Pre-Cal homework. (Although Dan was pretty sure he could hear them playing Cards Against Humanity but whatever.)

We hopped on a city bus which took us to school, and after getting off we walked from school to Mark's house to meet up with him, Amy, and their friends, and then walk to Tyler's.

Dan knocked on the Mark's door. After a moment a blonde girl in leggings and one of Jack's sweatshirts answered with a smile. "Oh, hey Dan! C'mon in an warm up! We're still waiting for Ro and Jordan so we've got time to burn!"

"Thanks, but it's really not that cold." Dan said stepping in and hugging the girl warmly, Dodie and I following awkwardly. "I grew up in Berkshire, Emma-" Dan motioned to me and I gave a small wave. "-grew up in Basildon, Essex, and Dodie-" he motioned to Dod and she waved as well. "-grew up in Epping, Essex, which is like 30 minutes from Basildon, And the three of us live together in Manchester. But yeah, we're all pretty used to cold schisty weather."

The girl smiled and was about to say something when Jack walked in yelling "Emma! I knew you were from Essex!" having apparently eavesdropped the conversation, then he came over and hugged me tight. (He's literally a teddy bear, seriously!)

"And you must be Dan and Dodie, right?" Jack asked chipperly. They nodded. Jack noted their shyness, nodded back, and introduced himself. "Nice to meet ya! I'm Séan, but everyone just calls me Jack. I've known Emma for quite some time; Dan, I've heard a lot about you from Mark and Amy; and Dodie, everybody knows you one way or another, but not as well as Ethan does! I've learned a lot from him in particular."
