     I woke up to the sound of a child crying. Realizing whose cry it is, I ran as fast as I could. "Anne! Anne, baby, are you okay?!" I hugged my child tightly. She hugged me and cried at my shoulder.

     "What's wrong baby? Did you have a nightmare?" I asked her worriedly, caressing her hair. Her hug slowly loosened and she looked at me, small teardrops on her cheeks. "I-I had a nightmare mom! I-It was a man on fire a-and he was calling me h-his daughter..." She hiccups as she was uttering the words.

     The first person who came into my mind was him. I brushed him off my thoughts and carried Anne. "Sleep with mommy tonight then." I smiled, she yawned and wiped off her tears. "Okay.." And she layed her head on my shoulder.

— the day after —

     Knock knock! Knock knock! I slightly opened my eyes, adapting to the sunlight hitting my face. I felt a small weight beside me. Seeing Anne first in the morning, it made me smile. My day is made. Knock knock!

     Oh, right, the knocks. Who could it be? I'm not expecting any visitors or mails today. I stood up and headed to the front door. Opening it, my eyesight still a little blurry, whoever the person is at the door, suddenly hugged me tightly. I panicked.

     "Oh what?! Who are you?! Stop it! I'm going to call the marines!" I struggled. It was no use, he was really hugging onto me tightly. "Y/N.. Y/N.. I-I missed you.." My shoulder felt wet, is he crying?! But then, his voice reminds me of someone.

     "Ugh, get off of me and tell me who you are! Who goddamn knows if you're a fricking kidnapper?!" I managed to push him off and his back hit the wall. My eyes widened and my
body automatically moved to him. "Oh shit are you okay?!" I scanned his body, looking for injuries. But instead of finding one, I found his tattoo on his left arm, which looked extremely familiar.

     "What.. H-How.. Where did you get that t-tattoo..?" Just after I said that, my blurred eyesight suddenly cleared. Seeing the man's face, painful memories came flooding in my mind, interrupting my sane thinking.

     Ace, Portgas D. Ace, the man who cheated on me and abandoned me and my child, is now standing before me. His eyes were still producing tears that never seem to end, I shook my head.

     "No.. I-I must be dreaming. Yo-You're
not real! Haha! Yeah, that's it I'm dreaming!" I smiled like a fool and is really hoping that I'm just dreaming. He frowned and grabbed my hands. "Y/N please! You're not dreaming! I'm here, THAT Ace who ruined your life, THAT Ace who broke your fragile heart.. And I'm so sorry! I'm an idiot! I wasn't able to realize that I loved you more than anything or anyone.." He cried.

     With those words, I knew I couldn't fool myself anymore. I stared into his eyes, while I'm on the verge of tears. The feeling of anger and sadness came to me, and all the tears fell.

     "Ace.. Ace.." I slowly uttered his name. He cupped my face and leaned his face onto mine. "Yes baby?" He whispered. I avoided his gaze. My body felt weak within his touch, so all I could do was give him small and weak punches. "Y-You bastard.. You left us! Y-You were with another woman! What are you doing here n-now?!" My voice was shaky.

     "Listen, baby I'm sorry. I-I didn't know. I was an asshole, a cheater! But baby I love you. All this time.." His eyes met mine, I could almost feel both our pains mixing together. "You are the only one I fucking love."

     And he kissed me.

     Without knowing it, I gave in to the kiss. With that, I felt everything, his sincerity, his regret and his pain. We pulled away from each other to breathe. "Fuck, I'm so inlove with you. I'm sorry.." He muttered under his breath. I smiled.

     "Mommy?"

     Both our heads turned to the direction of the voice, it was Anne. I looked at Ace, his face looked really shocked. Again, I could see tears falling on his cheeks.

     "Is.. Is she..?"

     "Yes, Ace. She's your daughter."

     Anne looked confused. She stood there trying to understand what's happening. Ace immediately ran over to Anne and hugged her. Anne was surprised, since he resembled the man in her nightmare.

     "Mom.. Who is he?"

     "Your father, Anne."

     Anne suddenly started crying too. I smiled, they look so alike. I felt the feeling of happiness surge inside me, and that's when I finally knew...

     This is my home. Our home.
