We faced an alpha. We faced a Kanima. Things like that aren't suppose to exist. But they do. You mention alphas or werewolves, people would call you crazy. But do you want to know what's even crazier? Scott McCall and I are bonding.
I know, it's crazy. A few months ago I would have volunteered to rip his throat out. Now here we are, driving to the hospital to give Melissa dinner. No bickering, no comments - from me, we were just talking. I don't know how it happened really. We ran into each other at the restaurant and started talking.
For once....I didn't want to punch him in the face. I didn't make any comments about him. He even noticed when he joked about me not threatening him.
We arrived at the busy hospital. Doctors were running everywhere. People were sitting in the chairs coughing violently or waiting. I spotted Melissa with a patient on a gurney. She turns around and saw us.
"Oh, thank God. I'm starving." She said while taking the take-out from Scott's hands. Then she realized she forgot to thank him. "Oh, I'm sorry. I'm sorry." She hugged him. "Thank you for bringing me dinner."
Scott chuckled, "I did get a little help."
Melissa turned and hugged me, "Thank you, Mina."
I stood there awkwardly and patted her back, "You're welcome. You let me stay at your place, getting you dinner is the least I can do."
She let go, "You know you're welcome to stay anytime."
I crossed my arms, "Thanks for the offer." I smirked at Scott. "Maybe someone could teach Scotty Boy to clean his room. I don't need to be a wolf to smell sweat in there."
Scott sighed, "I thought we were getting along just fine. You haven't insulted me for almost three hours." A gurney passed us. "Is everything okay?"
Melissa looked at the oncoming patients, "Except for half the accident victims in a ten car pile-up being rerouted here from downtown, and the E.R. attending not answering any of his pages, yeah, I'm okay."
"What that mean? If the doctor's not answering his pages?" I asked.
"It means that nobody can find him, so now we have to wait for the on call to get here."
This woman came up to Melissa, "Miss."
"Yes?"
The woman was clutching her stomach, "Excuse me, can I kind of please have something for the pain?"
"Okay, I'm sorry. I know." She placed her hands on her shoulders. "But, actually, giving you something could complicate things, so we really just need to wait for the doctors. Okay?"
The woman grimaced, but nodded anyway, "Yeah."
I looked at Scott to see him give her a sad look. Or one of his puppy dog looks. They both look the same to me to be honest. He looked back at Melissa before sitting next to the woman. I crossed my arms when he grabbed her hand. The black veins crawled up his arm and the woman's pain seized to exist. I gave Scott an approved nod - ok, and a small smile - when he looked at me.
"Someone...Someone help me!" We heard at the door. I turned my head and my eyes widen. "Oh, I need help!" Ethan yelled while carrying Danny, who's crying in pain.
Scott and Melissa grabbed Danny to set him on the chair. I grabbed Ethan by the back of his shirt and pushed him to the wall. I felt my eyes glow as I wrapped my hand around his throat. "What did you do to him?" I sneered. I warned that son of a bitch, if he ever harms Danny, hell will be brought.
"Nothing." He choked out. I tighten my grip on him when Danny started screaming, my claws were coming out. "He said he was having chest pains and trouble breathing, but it - it just kept getting worse."
