Flashback

I kept looking behind me. They're coming for us. They're hunting us. I felt two arms pick me up.

"Come on, Mina," Derek panted.

He cradled my head while I wrapped my arms around his shoulders. I kept bouncing around while Derek ran through the woods. He tripped over a root and let's go. We rolled down the hill until I felt my back collide with a tree.

I groaned as I tried to get up. "Der Bear," I called out. I looked up to see this blue machine on the ground and it lit up. I screamed as I covered my ears. "Make it stop. Make it stop!"

Derek got up and ran over to me. He turned around and crouched down. "Climb on!" He yelled.

I got up and jumped on his back. He lift me up and ran again. "Don't let the monsters get me, Der Bear."

"Never."

Derek kept ducking under every branch, jumping over every bush. Why were they after us? I let out another scream when I heard that terrible noise again. My head felt like it was about to explode.

Derek made a sharp turn and ran into someone. I buried my head on his shoulder when he stumbled back.

"You're Hales, aren't you?" A guy panted.

I heard something go flying. An arrow went through the guy's neck, causing me to scream. Derek tightened his hold on me when the hunter pointed his crossbow at us. He let the arrow fly, but Peter caught it before it could hit Derek.

Peter snarled at the hunters before we took off. "Pass me Mina!" He yelled.

"I got her." Derek panted.

I shook my head as I buried it in Derek's shoulder. I started to sob. Why did they kill that man? What did he ever do to them?

We ran through the forest until Peter stopped in front of a tree. He knelt down to reveal a secret door and motioned us to go through. I kept looking around the dusty place before Derek sat us down. I wrapped my arms around him and cried into his chest.

Derek kept one hand behind my head while the other was around me. He kept looking up when we saw the lights flash above us.

"Derek, I'm scared," I whispered.

Derek looked back at me. "Shh. I got you, Mina. I won't let them hurt you."

Peter sat next to us. "We won't let them hurt you."

Present

Cora was looking out the window. She was telling Stiles about our story before the fire. I remember that day. It was the first death I have ever witness. I was scared to death about the Argents finding us. Ever since Boyd died, Derek was no where to be found.

"They were there for two days, waiting, hiding," She told him. "That's what we're taught to do when the hunters find us - hide and heal."

"Okay, so is two days standard, then, or are we thinking Derek's on, like, some extended getaway?" Stiles asked.
