CHAPTER 9

ELY's P.O.V.

Flashback......

Today is a sunny day with no hint of clouds in the sky. The flowers start to bloom and the weather is getting warm. Finally, Spring Day is coming!

I smiled as I look around the place I always dreamed to go. My mama and papa brought me to a theme park. I have requested this from them for a very long time and finally they agreed to it since it's my my 7th birthday. We were having a lot of fun! My smile is plastered on my lips as I dragged mama and papa with me skipping happily from one ride to another. We rode the carousel, the bump car, the roller coaster and the ferris wheel. It was the happiest day of my life. It was already late in the afternoon when my feet start to hurt and so I asked my papa to carry me. He smiled at me and picked me up carefully. "Aigoo! Our baby is growing way too fast." I heard him mutter as he held me in his arms. Being in his arms feels so comfortable and made me feel secured. I yawned as I leaned my head on his shoulders. The moment my head rested on the nook of my father's neck, my eyelids become a little heavy. I was so tired that I didn't notice I fell asleep. The next thing I knew when I opened my eyes was that I was lying on my bed and my mom was tucking me in.

She smiled brightly when she saw me woke up. "It's already late my baby, go to sleep." I smiled back at her and hugged her with all my might. "Thank you mama, this is the best day of my life!" I happily kissed her cheek before I lay back down. I saw the twinkle in her eyes as she smiles before she tucks me to bed. "Anything to make you happy baby. Happy birthday! Now go back to sleep." I rubbed my eyes and nodded. "Good night, mama! I love you!" I closed my eyes as I felt her lips on my forehead. "Good Night my baby girl, I love you so much! I will do everything to protect you." I heard my Mom whispered in my ear as she caressed my head then kissed me again on my cheek. She slowly stood up from my bed and walked to my door. "Good Night, Mama! I love you too." Mama turned around and gave me her most beautiful smile as she opened the door. "I love you the most! Sleep now, baby." Mama responded before she closed the door. I felt warm, happy and comfortable. I was about to fall sleep when suddenly I heard a commotion outside my door. I heard mama and papa's voice talking. I slowly sat up in bed. "Mama? Papa?" I tried to call them but there was no response and so I decided to get out of bed and go outside because of curiousity.

I was a few steps away from the door of my room when it suddenly burst open. Papa suddenly grabbed me and carried me on his arms while Mama starts packing some of my stuffs. "How did they find us?"Mama asked while she is busy packing my stuff. "I don't know. I really have no idea." Papa looked at her with an anxious face. "That's enough. We have to go. Now!" Papa answered in a panick-stricken voice. What is going on? "Mama, Papa, where are we going? I am still sleepy." I complained. Papa then looked at me in the eyes and patted my head. "It's going to be okay sweetie, we are just going somewhere safer. Don't worry, baby. You can sleep later but as of now we need to go. Don't worry, papa will protect you." Papa assured me. I just looked at him unable to comprehend what he was saying.

We were on the stairs when we heard our front door opened with a loud thud. We were all startled. Then we heard a lot of heavy footsteps. I look at my papa and his eyes widened with alertness. He suddenly passed me to my Mama's arms and then brought out something black and shiny from his back pocket. My eyes wandered to the thing my papa was holding, what is it? I have never seen such a thing before. "Eli they are here, what do we do?" Mama asked papa in a shaky voice. Papa looked at us in panic. "Go hide! You know where to go. Remember I love you. I will protect you with my life." Papa hugged us and kissed us in our forehead before he let us go. He looked at us like he was trying to memorize our faces. "Papa, don't go." I asked suddenly afraid to see him go. I am starting to feel sad. I can feel the tears starting to pool in my eyes. I saw the conflict in his eyes as he looked at us. I felt something wet dropped to my arms and looked up. My mama is now crying too. I bit my lower lip to stop my self from sobbing. Mama looks so sad. Papa came closer as he lovingly caressed mama's tear-stained face. "Don't worry, this will be over soon. I'm sorry for bringing you into this mess." Mama just shook her head and smiled. Papa looked at her sadly before he kissed her full on her lips. "Please take care of our daughter. Remember I love you and our daughter so much!" My papa kissed my forehead one more time before he went down the stairs. Mama brought me back to my room and touched something on the wall. The wall opened which revealed to be a secret room or rather like a hidden close I have never seen beforet. Mama put me down and looked at me in the eyes. "Stay here baby! Don't get out of here until I tell you so, okay?" Mama instructed in a hoarse voice while she was crying. I started to cry too and held on her sleeves. "Mama, no! I don't want to! I want to be with you. Please don't leave me here, Mama. I'm scared." I grabbed her so tight like I never want to let go. She hugged me so tight and she cried so hard.
