CHAPTER 24

JUNGKOOK's P.O.V.

It has been more than a year since the accident happened and Ely Noona died but until now I still believe that it was just a bad dream and soon I will wake up and I will see her standing in front of me again. I am still hoping that she will be back. I know that it is impossible and she has no reason to return but I am still hoping. Losing her is like losing a part of my heart and soul. I feel so incomplete. I still remember that day when she kissed me at the airport. I should've hold on to her tight. I shouldn't have let her go. I can feel the sadness slowly enveloping me again. Just then, a tap on my shoulder pulled me out of my reverie. "Are you okay?" Namjoon hyung asked as he handed me my microphone. "Neh, hyung." I answered with a small smile as I took the microphone from him and started to enter the stage with him.

I remembered Namjoon hyung also got hurt that time and almost lost his life. Namjoon hyung got out of the hospital two weeks after the shooting incident in the airport and got fully recovered. Our planned activities were rescheduled and because of that Namjoon hyung was able to join our activities later on. We also settled the cases we filed against Namjoon hyung's father for the threats. It was hard for him to fight against his father but a crime is a crime, and no one is above the law. His father accepted his mistakes and apologized for it.

A lot of things already happened and yet, here I am, I still can't move on from Ely Noona. I took a deep breath as we took our places on the stage. I look at the crowd waving their Army Bomb. A small smile escaped my lips. I remembered that night when I saw her watching me sing "Butterfly". It was the first time she looked at me that way and it made me feel happy. The memory made me instantly happy but then my happiness immediately turned to sadness when reality started to sink in. She is not here to witness this performance.

We are currently in our 4th Muster here in Gocheok Skydome, and Namjoon hyung and I will perform a duet, our song "I Know". The music starts playing and I immediately closed my eyes and started singing pouring my heart out.

Where are you Ely Noona? It's been more than a year. I miss you so much! I know you are not dead so please show yourself! I begged the heavens above for a miracle and as soon as I opened my eyes, I saw something or should I say someone that caught my attention. Is this real or am I just hallucinating? I saw a girl who looked quite familiar seated in one of the fronts seats. Why didn't I notice her earlier? She was wearing an all black outfit, her pants and blouse, her shoes, and her hair is tied back in a high ponytail, and she is watching me intently. As soon as our eyes met, I felt my heart skip a beat. I tried to close and open my eyes to check if my eyes were playing tricks on me and my heart immediately dropped in disappointment as soon as the image vanished when I opened my eyes again. I scanned the crowd hoping that she is still somewhere among the people who are watching and I was right! The girl I saw earlier is now walking towards the exit. It's her! My instinct kept telling me that it is her, my Ely Noona! I can't concentrate now. Luckily, we are almost done with our song. And before I knew what was happening, my body moved on its own and so I jumped down the stage and dropped my microphone on the nearest table as soon as our set was over and tried to run after her as fast as I could. All A.R.M.Y.s were caught off guard by my action when I ran past them so no one was able to move. I was already out of the building when I saw her standing outside her back facing towards me with a hand phone to her ear.

I was about to go to call her when someone grab my shoulder and stopped me from taking a step forward. I looked back and saw Sejin hyung panting. "Yah, Jungkook-ah, why did you do that? That was quite dangerous! Bang PD-nim is so mad! Come on! Let's go back inside." he tried to drag me with him but I stopped him and removed his hands on me. "Ah, wait hyung! Just give me a few seconds. I still need to talk to someone." I tried reasoning out in hope that he will let me but unfortunately Sejin hyung was fast and was able to grab me again before I could move away. I tried to break free from him and looked at the girl standing a few feet from me. I looked at Sejin hyung and practically begged for him to let me go. "Hyung, let me go, please, just this once." I saw Sejin hyung's expression soften. He was about to let me go when suddenly another manager hyung showed up.
