After breakfast, Benjamin and I went down to the Crigboft training grounds to see Clan Mahlau train for the upcoming Crigboft season. We had asked Mia whether she wanted to tag along, but she declined, as she had already made plans with Amber and another friend, a girl named Sasha.

The Crigboft training ground was a large oval grass field which had two large ring goalpost located at opposite ends of the field. When Benjamin and I arrived at the training ground, Clan Mahlau's players were already practising. There was also a small crowd of students who had gathered to watch. Most of them were older students from Clan Mahlau, and many of them were cheering on the team as they practised.

Crigboft was fairly simple game to play on paper. Two teams of eight on broomsticks, each with a short broad bat, must direct a magically enchanted ball to the opponent's half before hitting it into the goal to score. The number of points scored depends on the position of the goalscorer when he or she scored the goal. For example, if a team scores from the half-field point, the team gets a total of five points. And the team with the most amount of points by the end of eighty minutes will be declared the winner.

While watching the practice session, Benjamin and I made a new friend, a friendly year three Clan Mahlau girl named Miki. We got to know from her that this year was the year where Clan Mahlau could actually contend for Qimengdian's Crigboft trophy.

After the practice session had ended for the day, Benjamin and I left the practice grounds to return to the Clan Mahlau's temple. We both agreed that we would try-out for the team after we learn how to use a broomstick, which is unfortunately in two years time when we turn 15.
