Today is Saturday and Hyungwon has another shift at the library. He had slept well last night and was in a good mood when he woke up, even though it was still quite early in the morning.
He went downstairs and made himself a cup of coffee while turning on his music. He was leaning against the kitchen counter as he smiled, remembering yesterday's encounter with Hoseok. He was still somewhat nervous but decided not to let his doubts bother him too much. After all, no one really noticed when something changed about the way Hyungwon acted.
He kept giving himself pep talks about how he should become friends with Hoseok and everything would be fine because being friends with Hoseok could only make his life more interesting. He would get to know what it's like to be friends with 'one of the cool kids' and in his mind that could only be something good.
It was now 8:30 and Hyungwon had to leave for work. Unlike yesterday, he was excited to go to the library because he knew that someone would actually be there just for him. He had been so absent minded that he had totally skipped sitting at his window this morning and so he didn't know if Hoseok had already left his house.
Hyungwon walked to the library with his headphones blasting B.A.P's 'Feel so good'. He couldn't help but smile as he hummed along to the cheerful song that fit his mood perfectly. Hyungwon felt a little weird for being so happy though. He didn't even remember when the last time was that he had been this excited about something. But then again, he usually didn't get out much and thus didn't really often get to be excited about something other than Hyunwoo coming over to play video games. When he arrived at the library, no one was there yet and Hyungwon just quietly started arranging the books that were brought in yesterday into their shelves. He found himself looking at the door now and then and getting excited for no reason whenever it opened, revealing a new customer but to his disappointment, the person he had been waiting for wasn't coming in. By now it was 10:30 and Hyungwon realised that the library had its midday closure at 11. Only an hour was left for Hoseok to appear before noon or else Hyungwon would've had to wait another 3 hours for the library to open again.
Just as he was about to get lowkey upset that Hoseok didn't show up, the door to the library opened again and Hyungwon saw the silver haired boy he had been waiting for out of the corner of his eye. However, he decided not to get too excited and just ignore the fact that Hoseok was finally there, so he just quietly proceeded to the back of the library where the last of the poetry books had to be put back into their rightful place, with a small smile on his face, that is.
As Hyungwon pretended not to have noticed Hoseok, the latter made his way around the library, looking for the tall brunette. In all honesty, he was kind of nervous. He didn't know what the other was going to say to his proposal and it made his palms sweat a little. He really wanted to be Hyungwon's friend. And to Hoseok, it didn't matter what other people thought, he just wanted to get closer to Hyungwon.
When Hoseok finally found the chestnut haired boy in the back of the library, a smile crept up on his face. Just seeing the boy made him smile and it made him realise how sad he would be if Hyungwon actually refused to be his friend...
"Hyungwonah..." Hoseok whispered as he carefully tapped Hyungwon's shoulder. When said boy jumped up a little in surprise, Hoseok took a couple steps back.
"I'm sorry, I didn't mean to startle you." Hoseok quickly apologised.
Meanwhile Hyungwon couldn't help but smile."I was just messing with you, I saw you come in a while ago." Hyungwon answered with a wide smile on his face and an eyesmile that Hoseok just found super adorable.
"Yah, don't be so mean!" Hoseok giggled as he playfully hit Hyungwon's arm.
"But Hoseok, on a serious note tho..." Hyungwon started and suddenly his face became super serious.
"The whole friend thing..." Hyungwon made sure to add in extra long pauses between his sentences just to add some suspense.
"I think it'd be really nice if to be your friend." His serious expression suddenly turned into a cheeky smile as Hoseok sighed in relief, hitting Hyungwon's arm again.
"I seriously thought you were going to straight up reject me" he couldn't hold back a smile that was making its way to his lips.
"You're such a meanie." Hoseok added and it made Hyungwon chuckle at how cute and childish the older actually was.
"That would be stupid of me, I mean, who doesn't want to be friends with the most popular guy in school, that's such an ego boost" Hyungwon slyly winked at Hoseok and the other wondered where Hyungwon had suddenly found all that confidence.
"You really are something, Chae Hyungwon..." Hoseok smiled as he rubbed the nape of his neck.
