Hoseok didn't dare to look at Hyungwon or say anything for the remaining time that they were on the rooftop. He felt so awkward and still couldn't believe he had actually said what he had. He was mentally cursing at himself the entire time and he had no idea how to get out of this situation without embarrassing himself any further so he just remained quiet.

Meanwhile Hyungwon just smiled to himself and enjoyed the view over the city. To be completely honest, he didn't even feel that awkward about the fact that Hoseok had just called him beautiful, he just thought it was kinda funny. That's how Hyungwon always took compliments, not thinking too much about them. Though this time it made him feel somewhat happier than other times. The fact that it was Hoseok who said it made something flutter inside him and he just enjoyed it while it lasted. Hyungwon also thought it was a good time for payback after Hoseok laughed at him when he squealed trying to climb up the roof.

The sun was starting to set and Hyungwon figured that Hoseok had suffered enough embarrassment for the day so he decided to speak up for what felt like the first time in forever to Hoseok.
"It's getting dark, we should get home, don't you think?" He casually said as he got up. Hoseok looked up at him with wide eyes, shocked at how casual Hyungwon acted.
"Hyungwon-ah..." Hoseok said, almost like a whisper. He sounded desperate as he fiddled with the string of his sweater.
"What's up?" Hyungwon said, once again confusing Hoseok with how casual he acted.
"I'm sorry for being so weird and calling you beautiful earlier..." Hoseok once again felt really awkward but he just wanted to get this over with.
"Dude, chill. It's not like you said anything bad..." Hyungwon frowned at the boy who was still sitting on the ground, looking up at him. It was kind of amusing to Hyungwon to see the always so confident Hoseok, looking so awkward.
He reached out his hand to pull Hoseok up and the other hesitantly obliged.
"Don't worry I won't tell anyone." He added with a wink and Hoseok playfully hit his arm. Hyungwon could see him relaxing a bit and it made him smile. He really didn't want things to get awkward between him and Hoseok and that's part of the reason why he acted so casual about what happened.

"Good thing we live across the street, we can awkwardly walk home together and talk about how beautiful I am." Hyungwon joked as he started walking towards where they came up the roof from.
Hoseok sighed to himself but laughed at his own stupidity. This was gonna haunt him forever and Hyungwon was gonna keep teasing him with it. But Hoseok felt more relaxed now. Hyungwon really was beautiful and there was no denying it. Seeing how funny Hyungwon was on top of that only made it so much better. Hoseok's little crush was developing even further with each minute he spent with the tall brunette and there was nothing he could do about it.

They walked home, talking about this and that like nothing happened. The two boys still felt comfortable with each other, which Hoseok was really thankful for. He could've easily ruined things by what he said but thank god he hadn't.
After a while, they stumbled upon the subject of their senior trip. Neither of them were really looking forward to it but considering their freshly built friendship, they figured it was a good way to get to know each other a bit more. Even though Hyungwon felt like he should keep their sudden friendship on the down low when they were around people they knew. After all, Hyungwon was still 'the weird kid' in school and he didn't want to ruin Hoseok's reputation and social status.
He figured he could just admire Hoseok from a distance like he always had. Yet he would like it if they could get closer to each other without having to worry about what others said or thought about them. But Hyungwon knew it was for the best to just continue pretending like they didn't know each other.

When they finally made it to where both their houses were, they parted ways and went in to their homes, a smile plastered on both their faces.
Hyungwon ran up to his room and looked out of his window, towards Hoseok's house. In the house across the street, Hyungwon could see some lights turning on and soon the curtains opened, revealing the beautiful silver haired boy. The two boys smiled at each other and it completely made them forget about the awkward moment they had just a couple hours before.
After a while of just sitting by the window and sharing glances with Hoseok, Hyungwon decided that it was time for him to go to bed. He was certain that he would sleep well tonight, because today had been such a good day for him.
He laid down on his bed and closed his eyes, he felt so relaxed that he could almost hear his own heart beating.
It was beating for him. For Hoseok.
Hyungwon was sure about it.
