Chapter 9- Power Born Pups!!

Corro spoke up while he sobbed softly

"I-I'm scared.. I don't want them to find me.. I don't want to go back to the Deadlands.. It was hell living there. There was little to no food or water. My parents hated me. I don't know why they would hurt me. No matter what I did I'd always get the same treatment. There was nothing I could do or say that would change it.. I would have been killed if it weren't for the spirits keep me alive, but they couldn't take away the pain"

Ina hugged him
"I'm sorry.. But as long as your with us you'll be safe. Once you officially become apart of this pack then you will no longer be alone, you will have all of us right behind and looking out for you"

"Why are you being so nice to me? You barely know me..." Corro asked with a shaky voice

" You don't give off a bad vibe. Plus your a Gifted Wolf, Spirits wouldn't give abilities to a bad wolf. Besides.. I understand first hand how hard abusive parents can be"

After Corro calmed down and had something to eat (Finally) she led him back to the crystal cave. One back in the cave with Enki he gave a little exposition to Corro about what the Gifted Wolf pack does:

"Each of us has a reason as to why we were given powers, we all have a destiny that we must take.  However we don't always know what it is.. or how to do it so in the meantime we all explore the lands and use our abilities to help those in need. The reason we come together as a pack is because it's a way to not feel isolated. We may be wolves but we are very different to non-gifted wolves. Not that we're superior. But we're not the same. Having a pack that you can relate to and having a home to come back to is vital. There is safety in numbers and we depend and trust each other for help."

"That ..makes sense.. And you want me to join?" Corro asked tilting his head

"Well we won't force you, but yes." Ina answered "We will give you some time to decide. Don't feel pressured this offering won't ever expire so take your time."

"Why don't you look around and introduce yourself to the other pack members? I'm sure you've met a pawful already" Enki suggested

Corro nodded and headed outside. He found Takita again playing with three wolf pups that all had twintails like him. Becoming curious, Corro wandered up to Takita and his pups. Takita noticed him.

"Hey Corro! There you are bud! How'd the introduction with the Alphas go?" He said happily. He was laying down with a pup hanging off his head, laying on his back and biting his tail softly

"Ummm.. Good..ish?" He replied nervously

"Intimidating huh?"

"Yeeah. Are these your pups?"

"Yep. Meet Pyre, Char and Ember" He said pointing to a little orange pup with a white muzzle and patches over it's eyes (Pyre), A really dark brown pup with Bright green eyes and lots of black spots over his body although his fur was so dark the black spots are barely even visible (Char), and the littlest of the three had the same fur colour as her daddy but also had black spots all over her body like a Dalmatian (Ember).

Ember wandered up to Corro curiously and snifed his paw. Corro had never interacted with a pup before so he didn't know what to do. He lowered his had down to the little pup and smiled. Ember smiled back and sneezed and accidentally blew a small fireball in his face. Not enough to hurt though. Corro quickly lifted his head up in surprise and shook the smoke off his face

Takita laughed "She takes after her daddy"

"Y-you have fire powers?" Corro asked still shocked

"Yep!"

"Wait, so these pups inherited your powers?!"

"Well yeah.. That's how it usually works. If two gifted wolves have pups then the litter inherits their parents powers depending on their gender, female pups inherit their fathers powers and male pups inherit their mothers powers. If a normal wolf and a gifted wolf have pups then each pup has a 15% chance of inheriting a power from their parents. Their called 'Power Born' Wolves. In fact, Silvia and my partner are Power Born."

"Huh.. so where's their mother?" Corro asked

Takita went silent and looked away... "she's...no longer with us..."

"Oh... I'm sorry"

" it's okay. It's been a while and I've gotten over it. She's with the spirits now."

Some time later after hanging with Takita and his pups Corro continued to wander around. He saw a few wolves playing in the lake, one froze the lake entirely and another was blowing water bubbles. Corro introduced himself to the two wolves frolicking in the water.

The Ice wolf was named Frost (Ironic) He had white fur with a large black stripe going all arounf his belly and over his back .

The Bubble wolf was named Hylia, and she had pale mint coloured fur and a yellow stripe on her forehead to her nose and a few stripes on her back legs.

They were brother and sister but Frost seem very interested in Corro, but Hylia delighted in his company

When the sun began to set Corro managed to find Aura again. Having her wing healed by Silvia when she blew a silvery wind onto the wounds.

"Hey Aura.. f-feeling better?" Corro asked slowly moving into the den the two she-wolves were sitting in.

"Better than I was before. Thanks." She said

"So" Silvia interrupted "You going to join this pack?"

"I... I think I want to " Corro replied

"That's great! Can't wait to have you aboard!"
