The group of wolves and the beta had rushed home to the pack. It was already past sunset and majority of the wolves in the pack had headed to their dens to rest
Corro had a numbing headache on their trip back. Upon returnng Jack ordered the group to stay in their dens until he or the Alpha came to get them, then Jack ran off in a hurry. The group went to their den which they all shared. It was a big cave with smaller little caves within it, it was like bunkbeds but with tiny dens instead of beds.
Tonka growled at Corro when he entered the den but he was too busy focusing on his headache to care.
They, except for Corro, dug into their meal happily. Corro lay down to rest his head.
Hawk offered him some food, he obviously deserved some of it, he decline, so she put it aside for him to eat later. No doubt he would thank her later.
"Yo Corro, What was that light thingy you did earlier?" Eagle asked while he stuffed his face with food
Corro was silent, he was lost in his thoughts and too distracted to answer. Cloud tapped on his shoulder and Corro flinched and lost his train of thought
"huh? Sorry what did you say?" Corro asked flustered
"Are you one of those Gifted Wolves?" Desert asked
"I.. think so" Corro replied sheepishly
"Hey you guys remember Aura?" Cloud asked the group
"Oh yeah, she was a gifted Wolf too" Hawk replied
Corro's ears popped up "There's a Gifted wolf in this pack? Where is this Aura? Can I see her?" he asked frantically
"She left a while ago. Something about learning more about her abilities or whatever" Tonka replied bluntly, she was sitting in the corner of her den eating privately.
Cloud went next to Corro and spoke quietly to him saying "Tonka was really close with Aura before she left"
"Oh.." Replied Corro.
Later when they had all filled their stomachs and gone to sleep
While they slept Corro had a dream. well more like a vision.
He was in the sky, clouds below his feet and above was the beautiful dark purple night sky with stars f multiple colours sprinkled everywhere.
He looked around to see a wolf covered in a heavenly glow, a spirit
"Seems like you had fun today, huh Corro?" Said the spirit in a soft, caring, female voice
"Eh..that's one way to put it" He said calmly. He wasn't at all fazed by this spirit wolf talking to him, and why would he be? This wasn't the first time it had happened.
'Hehe, that sounds about right" She giggled
"I thought you guys said I could get help from you guys, not get freaken powers!"
" Well actually it's the other way around, we gave you powers first, communicating with us was just a side effect to getting powers"
"What about that healing power?"
"Oh that, you like it? It'll get you out of trouble if you need it. But don't get cocky, your powers won't heal you if you get a fatal wound. Example being stabbed in the heart or having your head crushed. Your healing powers will only help you recover quicker from injuries, not make you immortal"
"Good to know..." Corro replied worriedly
The spirit walked up to Corro and gave him a hug
" You've done well so far. Your powers are still growing so don't worry to much about it"
"What do you mean they're growing?"
"I mean they're growing, I don't know how to make that any more clear. They're growling stronger just as you grow stronger everyday. We can't give mythical powers to pups straight away, these powers take time to develop and get stronger, just like a pup."
"I guess that makes sense. So what should I do now?"
" Don't you worry about that. We've already organised for another gifted wolf to find you"
"WHAT!?"
"Relax, she's a fantastic wolf, you'll love her. She should arrive any day now to pick you up"
"Pick me up?! Wait where is she taking me?!"
The spirit faded and the dream began to end
"Relax kid, you'll be fine. Trust me"
Corro woke up in a shock, panting hard. It was still night time outside.
Corro decided to go for a walk alone. Not the smartest choice for a young wolf hated by a lot of other strange wolves in the pack but he trusted the Sprits would keep him out of trouble.
He looked up and saw the shadow of a bird-like creature flying straight over him in the sky
This spooked him and made him run. The shadow was incredibly close.
He ran through the woods for some time, not going as fast as he new he could be still fast enough. The shadow followed him. By this point he was scared out of his mind. His heat pounded, he fur started to glow and would had continued if he hadn't tripped and slammed into a tree and passed out. And the glowing stopped. The shadow flew down and landed on the ground in front of the passed out Corro.
The shadow was a huge Crow, 30 times bigger than a regular crow. It's feathers had smoke-like particles flaking off it. It was about to peck him when Corro's fur flashed a blinding light at the bird. It screeched in pain & flew off
Corro laid there for hours.
