The World Isn't Over Yet

Jacks POV.
I pulled into the school parking lot, Jayden was still wet, and asleep so I had to bring myself to wake her... I gently shook her and watched her eyes flutter opened
"S-Sean?..."
She questioned as she started to stretch. I just smiled.
"Where here..."
She nodded and looked at my sweater
"I'm sorry... it's all wet..."
She sighed and I just shrugged
I helped her out of the car, we slowly walked as she held her arm and I stood there stabilizing her, as she stumbled in her half asleep state.

As we walked in we looked around, I stood there for a second with Jayden only to be pulled by Dan, Jayden was taken by Luciana, carefully I might add. 

Mark stood there as Kayla directed Amy into the lobby, I take it that we where hiding from her.

I watched as Mark took are by the hand and looked her in the eyes.

"Amy I'm sorry about earlier, I love you so much and you mean the world to me. This life has changed me and your the only thing keeping me grounded. I've turned to stone and you keep breaking it so reality and humanity can come though and i can feel again. I  know it doesn't mean much in the world where living in but it means so much to me. Amy.."

He gets on one knee and smiles then pulls out the ring he had for her.

"Will you... please make me the happiest man in this hell whole that you make brighter, and marry me?"

Amy was speechless and was crying at this point, mark might not always know what he's talking about but he always had a way with words.

"Yes ! Of corse Mark! Of corse i forgive you... of corse I'll marry you! I love you too, so much."

She hugged him, and we all stood up and cheated while hugging each other and the couple, they where so cute... maybe I could do that one day.... maybe with-

"Sean? You there?"

Jayden laughed, the cheering had died down and the first drinking had started, with Jayden gaining more trust and not a big drinker since she's still really underaged (not like it matters) she decided to take the first night shift, Mark being the happy man he was at the moment he somehow agreed.

Jayden's POV
My sister and i where the only sonar ones left, jack convinced my mom to relax for once, My sister and i sat y the post where every night shift starts and just waiting for people to hit the hay, she insisted on staying up with me and with everything thats happened, staying up late is the least trouble she could cause. 

"I'd like to make a toast! I yelled over the drunken slurs of the crowd.

"It's been hell for me the last three years, we all have a past, and we all have things we miss.-"

"I miss memes!"

Robert yelled.

"And I know it's weird making toasts just after the proposal, but its the zombie apocalypse we don't do anything right anymore, but to mark, the guy always looking out for the team  By the way i forgive you, and Amy, the emotional one who can make anyone feel okay and happy even if its just for a second. You guys are complete opposites but you are so cute and deserve each other. Also thanks for taking me in and treating me kind of like your own.. good luck you two!"

I raised my glass of water and everyone cheered.

~TIME SKIP SO I CAN DO SOMETHING THAT WAS SUPPOSED TO HAPPEN ALREADY OOPS!~

"Shit... its dark.. sis, come on let's go,"

She looked confused at my words

"What do you mean where are we going?"

"Just to the creepy basement, i need someone to cover me while i go down there and everyone else is drunk so...if we don't we will soon freeze to death if we don't die from something we can't see. "

She just nodded, K was amazing she understood even as a child i mean she was annoying but If i wanted to start a fight i needed t find something to fight about.

We walked down to the basement slowly, i had a knife and she had a gun, according to my mother K was really good with a gun, I hope she's right.

I found a dead body or two but nothing of the living.. my sister looked like a cop from one of those tv shows checking the rooms with a gun and flashlight, it really made me proud.

After about 20 minutes of searching i found the backup generator... for once things where going my way, it was fully powered.. I smiled at her and she nodded, then i turned it on...

The lights flickered and my eyes hurt from how bright it was, but k and I quickly ran upstairs... I suddenly got it with Flashbacks and memories, both good and bad.

Everyone just stopped and looked around, it was Ike nothing had changed... besides things we had moved and put there, and the fact that everything had looked old, everything is the same... I held my arm as we walked, i had the sweater on still, and everything just felt warmer from the heat...

"You did it... by yourself..."

Mark looked surprised

"One, not by myself, k was there if i needed backup, and two.. I couldn't let my team freeze..,"

Everyone continued to party because we finally had power and because we witnessed the cutest thing since the outbreak. I just stood where I needed too, k didn't leave my side, she always wanted to keep me company. I missed her so much

"Jayden... I'm glad your okay... I missed having my big sis around,.. Mom and I where never happy..."

She hugged me and i smiled

"Your a smart cookie k.. and you've done well.. but don't worry I missed you too.."

I hugged her and i felt all the noise rly away, it felt good to not feel so alone... which was a feeling I only felt with her... and ...
