Eren's Nightmare (ON HOLD)

Chapter 8

Hey guys! I updated already! I am on a roll! Lol. Also after rereading the story I realized my writing style has really changed a lot so I hope you still like it! If you like the way I wrote originally better I will of course try to incorporate that, just let me know! This chapters not as adorable as the previous ones (and maybe a little more serious), but trust me it is setting it up for a ton more fluff in the next chapter, so bear with it. Trust me okay! Enjoy! ^_^

'God he looked terrible' Levi thought, watching Eren shuffle off to his afternoon practice from the lounges window, cup of coffee in his hand. Eren had dark circles around his eyes, well, darker than normal, and his face was pale. He looked exhausted. Levi shook his head, taking another sip from his cup as he looked out across the base. Levi wasnt really sure what he could do to help, but he knew this had to stop, otherwise Eren would be useless to the effort, and Levi was actually worried about the boys health, not that he would admit it though. Eren seemed to have slept well when he crashed in his room that one night... Levi felt his face heat up slightly, but he wasnt sure why, maybe he was still unsure about what had really transpired between him and Eren those couple of nights. But despite this uncertainty the wheels began to turn in Levis mind, and he began to formulate a solution to this problem.

Eren stumbled off towards the training area, attempting to keeps his eyes focused on where he was walking rather than on how tired he was. He could hardly keep his eyes open as he followed the habitual path towards his daily training. Last thing he remembered was being just a few yards away from the training area before he hit the ground hard. Eren scrambled up, brushing himself off and blushing profusely, looking around to see if anyone else had seen that. Did he really just fall asleep while standing up? God that was embarrassing. To his slight relief no one had seen the occurrence, at least that he could see, and luckily the fall had knocked some alertness into him, assisting in his run the rest of the way to training.

Eren muddled through his daily routine, attempting to avoid too much questioning from his friends. He had done relatively well until it was time for lunch. "What's wrong Eren? You can tell me." Armin persisted, setting down his lunch tray next to Eren's. "I told you, Im just tired Armin. Will you drop it?" Armin looked back at his friend, obviously not satisfied with his answer. "No. Not until you elaborate." Armin stated. Eren grumbled, placing his head down on the table, heavily debating weather of not to skip the rest of the day. "Nothing to elaborate about.  Go talk to horse face or something, " Eren mumbled, wanting a little bit of silence. He didnt mean to be mean to Armin, but he sure could be chatty sometimes, and he usually hangs out with Jean a lot any way as of late. Armin sighed, seeing he wasnt going to get anywhere, and, unknown to Eren, went to go find Mikasa.

Eren, head on the table, slowly started to nod off when he heard the calm demanding voice of his sister behind him. "Eren. Why ar-" "Because I didnt sleep last night okay?!," Eren said, a little louder than he would have liked. Mikasa paused for a moment, unfazed by his outburst, "Why no-" "Excuse me." Eren's head shot up as the familiar cold voice sliced through the noise. He turned to see Corporal Levi standing between Mikasa and Armin, Mikasa watching him coldly. "Jaeger, I need to speak to you for a moment.  Please come with me," God, he sounded so formal. Out of the frying pan and into the fire. Eren speechlessly excused himself from the table and followed Levi outside. They walked a little ways away before Levi finally spoke, "Nightmares again?" Eren paused for a moment before nodding. Levi was silent for a few minutes. "You know you cant keep this up." Eren nodded again. Levi sighed. "Eren, I had your room changed, Erens eyes flashed up in surprise, Why? Hows that going to help any?" His voice sounding somewhat panicked. Levi raised his hand before Eren started rambling.  "Hear me out okay?" Eren nodded reluctantly, still wondering where his new room would be and if it would still be close to Levi's, not that it mattered that much, but it made him feel more secure... "Youre going to be in room number 32," Eren paused for a moment, the gears in his mind turning, "W-wait, isnt that your room?" Eren turned to see Levi smirking ever so slightly, "Yes. Yes it is,"

Eren’s mouth went bone dry. This was not happening, was it? Levi chuckled slightly at Erens shocked expression, Its so I can keep a closer eye on you, at least thats what the rest of the squad thinks. Correct me if Im wrong, but you seemed to have had less nightmares the night you, well Why was it so difficult for him to say? Levi mentally kicked himself, Slept in my room, Eren nodded slowly, slightly embarrassed. Levi seemed not to notice his awkwardness about the subject, or maybe he decided not to notice, either way he continued, I figured we could test this arrangement for a little while and see if it helps any. Because there is no way in hell Im going to train you when you cant even manage to stay awake while walking, let alone operating machinery, Eren blushed deeply, realizing he must have seen him fall on his face earlier. A-are you sure Corporal? Eren stuttered,  not wanting to be of any trouble.  Levi nodded, "Its the best solution at the moment. Unless you can think of another one?" Eren quickly shook his head, seemingly worried about Levi changing his mind. Levi chuckled slightly at the boys antics.  "And Eren, you are excused for the rest of the day to move your stuff to your new room," Levi pause for a moment before adding,  "And please dont touch anything," Eren grinned at him and nodded.
