Levi had managed to get approximately 45 minutes of sleep before he was again jolted awake by Eren's screaming. Sighing, the corporal stood up and made his way over to Eren's room. Why couldn't Hanji be in charge of keeping an eye on him? Then he wouldn't have to be in the room next to mine and she could deal with Eren. Levi chuckled darkly as he imagined Eren waking up to see Hanji staring at him with her "serious" face. That was enough to give anyone nightmares.
Soon enough Levi reached the boys bedroom door and carefully slid the door open, careful not to wake the others, if they weren't already awake. He strolled over to the side of the bed and was just about to yell at the boy when he caught a glimpse of his face. Sleeping, Eren looked like a frightened little child, innocent, fearful, and longing for comfort. Seeing Eren like this reminded him that Eren was still a child, even if he didn't want to show it, and he had lost his mother only 3 years ago. Levi wondered if that was what his dream was about, but his thoughts were again interrupted by another one of Eren's screams and he saw as tears began forming at the corners of the boys eyes. Levi found himself feeling sorry for him. Without thinking he laid down on the bed, next to him and put his arms around the whimpering boy. As he laid there he watched as Eren stopped crying and fell into a peaceful sleep. Smiling ever so slightly, Levi fell asleep with Eren in his arms.
